Recruiting Football Talk VIII

How important was NC St's player that got ejected? He'll miss the 1st half of our game? Do you always miss half of the next game or does it depend on when you're ejected?
I thought it was if you were ejected in the 1st half you missed the rest of that game but are eligible for the entire next game. If ejected in the 2nd half then you miss the 1st half of the next game. Did it change?

I agree. I tried to look up his Vols stats up yesterday and nada. Atkins was the best player in college football and should have won the Heisman.

Interesting story that he came to Tennessee as a basketball recruit, iirc. Neyland had a look at him and said "this is my guy." Neyland was right, of course. Atkins dominated in the NFL too.

Dick Butkus said Atkins was the only player he was ever afraid of

If someone told the buffs they are going to have the same record in 5 years as they did 2 years ago (1-11), but in those 5 years, they will have a huge roller coaster of media & sports fans attention with a huge mosh pit of money to fall back on. Will they take it? Hell yea and so would a lot of individuals in this forum.

Colorado has virtually garnered nothing (wins, money, attention, n’ chips, bowl wins, fan support, etc.) in almost 30 something years, outside of 1 big 12 champ. win (vs. tex) and you say they can be worse. You just speaking outta emotion & hate for deion.

Please explain how colorado can be in worse (practically & realistically speaking) position than I detailed in my previous post. According to ppl who are follow their program, it cant get worse than what it has been.

“What coach is going to come in behind all that and take on the mess that was left for him?”
Opposing fan bases was saying the same thing about us 4 years ago, now look at us.
I don't hate Deion, I don't respect him but I don't hate him.

Now all that attention, has been both positive and negative, it's a circus like environment. The money they have brought in is being spent, and when the circus leaves town the money dries up.

That's exactly what they said about this job for two decades and a number of coaches and they were right. And we were in a much better position both financially, in regards to prestige and our recruiting footprint. All that going for us and we couldn't get it together.

Now I'm not saying Colorado wasn't in a very bad situation.

What I'm saying is they picked a high risk, high reward guy who's sole goal was try and put the best team around his son he could in a short period of time, long term success of the program be damned.

What I'm saying is when the circus leaves town, likely after this season the program, better stated as team and possible the coaching situation is going to be worse. He ran off all the guys who wanted to play at Colorado, and brought in his that wanted to play for Deion. When he leaves that team will have no core to build around.

Yeah, but we did the same against our competition. If it’s the rules, it’s not on Joe.
I’ve watched every game most in person since Moses was floating in a basket and we definitely slowed down last year to accommodate Joe. Hooker knew the play book, and what Heup wanted done there were times he never looked at the sideline. Joe couldn’t process like that.
Besides the rule changes don’t dictate tempo, just reduce the number of snaps. WE WENT SLOWER.

Colorado gave him ($150k-$200k) bonus this summer for their revenue performance. I guarantee that extra revenue they made is in their trust fund somewhere being stored for a rainy day or some new future developement (buildings and/or research).

What has deion done for you not to respect him? What has he done that other coaches havent done? College football, basketball & baseball are minor league systems and they no longer operate under the phony window dressing of “amateurism.” Those former buffs players were absolutely trash, most of them werent power 4/5 talent level players. He told em straight up, you suck, bye.

I dont agree with how deion broadcasted kicking them off da team, but most coaches do what he does when they inherit a subpar roster. He showcases his program on platforms where the younger generation consumes media. Its a marketing ploy and all skools do it. He just does it more often, with a bigger 🎇.

As for his personality, its the attitude of most high achieving athletes. He just puts it out there unfiltered, when others try to be more reserved or pc b/c of the criticism they will receive (see deion lol). I bet there’s a good portion of UT’s roster, along with the 130 something teams that have the same personality traits as deion. Most people cant relate because they arent high level achievers lol. If people hate him b/c hes self confident, cocky, or arrogant, thats on them lol. Now if he was a bad guy or criminal, then I would understand the hate.

I mean, let's be honest. Colorado is a D-1 school. North Dakota State is not. I don't care how good a D-2 school they are, this game should not be this close. Yet it is. So Deion deserves every bit of criticism thrown at him. If he's gonna talk the talk, people are gonna talk **** when his team fails to walk the walk.
NDSU is not D2 lol. FCS is D1 ya gomer yeti

Do you even football braj? Guess you're still not feeling well
