Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Probably didn’t want to risk an unnecessary injury just to pad stats.
I also think the fact that UTC was diving at our guys knees so much made them a little cautious with JP.

I can't remember seeing a team that wasn't a triple option team do so much chop blocking...it was weird.

I doubt it. This staff and a lesser overall UT team all but had their way with UF two seasons ago, and yet here we are. Apparently, winning isn't the cure. Looks like the only remedy, once and for all, will be to absolutely mock it out of existence every time someone fills their diaper with it and stinks the forum up again.
I like your enthusiasm...but what the hell are you talking about? We did beat UF at home in 22, but we didn't "have our way with them" by any stretch of the imagination...it was a close victory that our defense looked like pureed 💩 in.

And then there was last year, which really sucker punched a lot of folks who were just getting over the BVS.

Don't be an ass just because you disagree...give your opinion as to why there is no reason to worry about Florida...you have good reasons to give

People will start believing when we start beating them on the regular, a little more than twice in a decade.

Are they really gonna let Scott Stricklin fire and hire another coach? Letting the same AD swing and miss three times is crazy.

I would think Stricklin and Napier get fired within a few days of each other.
I’ve been hearing for years that Florida wants to become more of an academic-focused institution and have lowered athletics success as a priority.

Letting Stricklin hire another coach would lend credence to that rumor.

In what parallel universe are you currently residing?

“Winning” absolutely is the cure. We simply need to do it.

And you playing fast and loose with the definition isn’t going to exercise any demons.

You do remember the finish from 2 years ago right?
1 of 7 is not “winning”
2 of 18 is not “winning”

You’ve been here a long time.
You’ve seen this before.
You’ve seen us take the better squad in, and lose.

I sincerely Heup & Co have something ready - and deliver a damn donkey punch.

Not gonna lie, perfect coach for Florida would be coach Golesh.

Young guy and great offensive mind. He would get that program back to AT LEAST 8 wins consistently. They need to inject some life back into that program and Golesh would be perfect.

Can definitely see him leaving USF after only 2 years and Florida would pay 2mil buyout
Like many on here I think they make Lane tell them no. Unfortunately I think they get him.

UTC was cut blocking too which increases the chance of injury. I'm not sure it was worth the risk given the situation. It doesn't take much to tweak a knee or ankle.
I wondered when somebody else was going to notice this...it was weird how much they cut block our guys...looked like we were playing a wishbone team out there.

I remember when we played Nebraska and I watched Leonard Little basically back off and say naw...that ain't happening right when I'm about to go be a millionaire in a few months.

That is immediately why I thought they quit running JP out there...not worth it to lose a generational talent like that in the first game against a scrub UTC team..

Anybody remember Azuza Pacific?...I sure the hell do...it still breaks my heart.

Bad fit unless they make major changes. Lane is the type of coach that needs a solid organizational structure around him and everyone to buy in. He exacerbates dysfunction. And I actually think he knows this about himself which makes me question how interested he would be.

Our sad story before Boyd and Plowman.

That happened at the beginning of our down fall as well.

I think they clean house and "start over". I hope I'm wrong.l tho.

I was in San Francisco this spring. I saw miles of homeless camps and the entire pedestrian walkways over the interstate taken over by tent cities. A few minutes in the Ghirardelli store and 2 homeless people came in and loaded up their arms with the finest chocolates, several hundred dollars worth, and simply walked out without any intervention. It is a strange world.

Also, early every morning big tanker trucks of water with men in hazmat gear spray the sidewalks to control the smell of humans using the sidewalks as a bathroom.🚽
I guess we were just lucky or else they have crack down in the area we were in.
