Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Ok, need some help from you moranerds.

I was gifted an older Kenwood surround sound system. I'm not sure how to hook it up to this projector. It only has an aux output and HDMI inputs also a USB connection. The surround sound system doesn't have any HDMI or AUX inputs. I've posted pics below. Is it even possible?

USB-A to RCA adapter should get it. I don't think it'll be true surround sound but it will be stereo.

I don't think Cignetti would leave after only 1 year. Indiana just put a $1 million dollars into the strength and conditioning program. Per his request..
I don’t think he would leave either, but I just figured UNC would have a bigger NIL and the contracts would be bigger and that’s always enticing

If Florida fires Billy wonder if aubby fires Hugh to try and get cignetti before they do

Cignetti is beating the other guy Florida likes early

Is UK a dark horse candidate if stoops keeps losing
Could be 3 open sec teams this year

I need a solution today. I was thinking a AUX to rca.

Yeah, fair enough. Just feels close enough that starting over in a dumpster fire with higher expectations would be a bigger challenge than staying put and continuing to dominate. Only a big SEC offer would sway imo
I agree with that. He ain’t leaving a good thing for a dumpster fire.

Maybe Golesh will throw his hat into the ring. Would love it for him.

On the cold afternoon of October 26, 1881, four men in long black coats strode purposefully down the dusty Fremont Street. Around the corner, in a narrow vacant lot behind the O.K. Corral, waited six cowboys. In a fateful thirty seconds, nearly thirty shots were fired at close range. The gunbattle between the Earps – lead by Marshal Virgil Earp, his brothers Wyatt and Morgan and their friend, Doc Holliday – and the Clanton-McLaury gang left Billy Clanton and the McLaury brothers dead and Virgil, Morgan, and Doc wounded.

Today we frame this event as a legendary example of Western vigilante justice, where lawmen preserving the peace faced down cattle rustlers suspected of robbing a Wells Fargo stagecoach. But the historical backdrop for this deadly tension is far more complex. After the Civil War, rapid growth in the American industrial economy spurred an interest in Westward expansion. Boomtowns like Tombstone provided fertile ground for the continuation of the war's sectional strife in the Western territories. Wealthy Northern mine owners and businessmen jockeyed with Southern cowboys from Texas for control and power. Each faction brought its economic, political, and social conflicts to the Arizona Territory – and to the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral.

htf is that not a hold? He held onto him until after he was past.

TL;DR post on obvious incorrect penalty calls/no-penalty-calls against UT.

I've made your same bewildered statement in every game this year. It is either coordinated to not call holding against any offense when we are on defense or the explanation in the next paragraph is happening below is happening. Admittedly, this explanation is what I think most likely but that is while also realizing that there will always be corruption in any kind of competition. And especially when money/gambling are involved.

My theory is that officials resent Heupel and hate calling our games because our style of offense makes their job about as hard as possible. They have to constantly move fast to keep up with spotting the ball, moving the chains, getting in position and making pre-snap checks and counts for penalties. This is naturally going to cause them some confusion and some mistakes, just like it does opposing defenses and sometimes our own offensive players. I think some bad calls are mistakes from the stress our system puts on refs....maybe the consistently shi**y spots of the ball are honest mistakes caused or made worse by the chaos our pace causes.

You know that refs are way more tired after running up and down the field when our offense is humming than they are for almost any other games except for a few other similar up-tempo teams. But Heupel's scheme is considered to typically be a warp speed fast offense and we were that at UT under him for 2 years. I think refs resent Heupel and are also part of why the blatant fake injuries rule has not been passed as expected by any sane person. Not saying they have the authority but they definitely make it known they don't want that rule.

This resentment has bled over to our defense not getting calls this year because our D-line is so dominant and a hold could (and should be) called on nearly every play. But I'm not talking about the typical "every play hold", these are blatantly bad holds not being called. Correct holding enforcement would cause the opposing offense to correct technique to avoid racking up penalties and we would have multiple guys destroying QBs and RBs on most plays getting our defense off the field even faster, causing our offense to have several more drives per game which the refs and our opponents definitely don't want.

While the officiating has been horrendous all year on our front seven, especially for the DL. We've had pretty good calls on the secondary but they haven't been attacked a lot and have been technically excellent which makes them hard to penalize. But I've seen the DL being wrangled like a damn bull or fully tackled multiple times and not get the blatant hold call and, because they are well trained and rotated/rested beasts, they either still make a play, almost make a play or cause pressure. Sometimes they'll be completely taken out of the play by being tackled or held out of position. No call.

It is BS because we get none of the same treatment for our OL. We get called for barely holding when our hands are in good position and we get called some when we disengage quickly. We get very borderline illegal touching and ineligible man downfield calls that are questionable. Meanwhile, the refs ignore Pearce getting grabbed and tackled from from behind in the endzone just before he can blast Milroe from the blind side for a safety. It worked out but that extra 2 points could have been huge if Bama scored a TD on one of their several remaining plays. Hell, Bama's OL made a couple of pre-snap penalties that we got weirdly called against us and at least 5+ pretty obvious holds, their nickel or safety was no-called for the face mask on Brazzel's TD (which was def seen as the tug happened just as the ball was arriving). That would have given us first and goal instead of 4th down had Brazzel bobbled it instead of securing the ball.

I realize that Bama was heavily penalized, the close Pearce jump on the sack went our way and Gibson didn't get double personal fouls called. But those constant Bama holds and the Brazell face mask could have been game changing but our guys made the plays anyway to overcome the officiating. That should never happen with the tech available now that could analyze every play in real-time and alert on penalties missed or mistakes on penalty calls. Refs could easily have tablet screens available or even attached to their uniform somewhere so they can get an alert, immediately have the best angle still pic or short clip sent to their tablet showing the needed change and mistakes can be corrected in seconds. I have more thoughts on how that should be implemented but in a different post.
