Let's be honest though for a moment. In what world does someone name calling EVER justify physical violence?

A slap is probably in store if you walk right up to someone in the street and call them the most despicable word you can think of for that particular person. I wouldn't blame them either. Keep at it and a quick jab may be in store. Beyond a slap or jab, no. Not that I ever would retaliate as there's really no word that affects me that much.

But if you are vulgar toward a lady, I say she gets to slap you straight up. You have to keep your hands down at your side and she should get to you slap as hard as she likes. That is how society should operate.

When I worked at a bank here in NC, I got a loan application from a guy wanting to get a very reasonable, small auto loan. He was with his dad, who seemed to be brimming with pride. He said he was just about to get his first real job and needed basic transportation, but didn't want to spend much. His dad kept mentioning how responsible he was for getting just a very small loan. I was thinking to myself, "well a kid with his first full-time job and zero credit history, probably isn't getting approved for that much anyway". So I asked him what kind of work he would be doing. He said he played football for NC St and was about to be drafted into the NFL....story checked out

I don't know why he's leaving. This morning I read it's due to a family issue and he would be welcomed back with the team in the future. I don't think he's as athletic as most of the big men on the team and I could see his playing time regulated to mop up duty. I hope his family issue is not serious and he can return to the team soon.

You mean the "Stephen A. Smith Take" as typical didn't let TO or Max even get a word in, at least in the clip you shared.

I'm just not a fan of Stephen A. or Skip Bayless for that matter. They are fickle with their loose opinions, and seem to just push volume & absurdness with their "takes"

The show still being on, much like when CNN's Crossfire was on, seems to be a reflection of what enough people enjoy spending time watching. They'd rather see a manufactured, illusory debate between 2 caricatures yelling at each other than actual discourse, nuances, and (gasp) agreement at times.

But, like Crossfire, I think enough people dislike that medium or will grow tired of it, and it will eventually die off. Fingers crossed.

He said that Max was “blacker” than Stephen A just because Stephen A has a legit point against Colin as to how he’s handled this whole situation and why he’s not gotten hired and max was defending him..just a HUGE wow moment for me.its always the Racial card,blows my mind.

Unfortunately it's ESPN, them carrying so many sporting events and being part of the ABC family offsets the likely abysmal ratings these types of "debate" shows get. I'd be curious to see what their actual ratings are for these shows. I doubt it's very high on average. But it's a "sports" station, so anything related will be aired.

There's a few other shows setup the same as First Take, Around the Horn for example. I dislike most of their personalities these days. RIP Stuart Scott and the better era of ESPN
