He did. But other than that year, he feasted on bad teams. I remember looking at it when he was hired at Penn State.

He got a below average Wake Forest team every year, and he got the Nutt/Freeze transition at OM and Dooley/Butch transition at UT. Can’t deny he had great records for Vandy, but he has struggled against ranked opponents.
