So now UAB isn’t a “good” team, I recall someone awful worried about them before we played em...

Sherrer also coaches ILBs. Done a pretty damn fine job with that group if you ask me. Bituli & Henry T are arguably our best defensive players.

Lost Banks, Reid, & Ignont and still playing strong in the middle.

Hey man i call it like i see it and i don’t coach worship. I bash them when i think they deserve it and praise them when i think they do. I don’t think I’ve been unfair in any of my criticisms. I really like our staff right now except for a couple and I’ve been open about that. The assistants i think aren’t getting it done are Johnson and sherrar. I don’t follow recruiting really so I’m only basing that on what their groups do on the field. Our WRs are better than last year and our RBs struggle in pass protection, fumbles, and route running. Same thing with sherrar. We don’t try to return kicks, we’ve had FGs blocked etc. I’m not backing down from that opinion and i think it’s ok to always look to upgrade, these guys are making plenty of money to do their jobs and if they aren’t going it at a top tier level then i don’t want them here.

As for the bama and teams weve played comment...You’re knit picking while avoiding your own reservations. Have we beat a good team this year? No we haven’t. But who cares, you can only play who’s scheduled and i think you would be untruthful if you think we didn’t benefit off of what turned out to be a very weak conference outside of big 3.

But like i said. It doesn’t matter. We took care of business against those teams which is good. I’m happy, you’re happy, we’re all happy. But the coach at UT is hired to beat the big boys and until we do that we’re gonna have reservations. Some of them just hide them or express them differently.

Cheers and Vuck Fandy.

Lost me at "coach worship", even I didn't think you'd go there.
But I'd disagree anyway, just not our coach.

As for everything else, sounds like I'll see you tomorrow for round 37. Until then 🍻

The article did not mention at all that DK was planning on doing the rehab to get ready for the draft. It only mentioned that he was working as a mortgage officer.
Mortgage officer assistant. Now, I am not sure if he is as high as the secret assistant to the regional manager yet. But he's on his way.

We were going 3-9 and err'body was good enough to beat us. Until we won.

And while SC is just so inconsistent and unpredictable, they did just beat the #4 team in the country. Not a great team by any means but you would think we played Southern Rhode Island, 6 straight times to get bowl eligible.

I agree. We need more talented depth on the DL and someone to replace Bituli. On offense we REALLY need some more skill players.

I really think we’ll pull a top flight receiver when it’s all said and done.

I’m just not that thrilled with the running backs on the horizon. Ty and Eric need to kick it into gear and Banks needs to pay his penance and get back in the RB room. The cumulative skills of those three are one really good running back. I just wish we had a total package RB.

Im going to get blasted but pretty sure Butchs staff would have had some great WRs and RBs lining up to play with Bailey and this OL we have been putting together.

Some random thoughts -

Beating Mizzou in Columbia at night for their last home game of the season (thus senior night) when both teams are 5-5 is a big win. Vandy last season was Pruitt's biggest game of his HC career. I think last night was a bigger game. He failed last year, but he succeeded big time this year.

Mizzou, overall, is a pretty well-coached team. Odom seems like a giant butt plug, especially after the way he spoke about UT this off season. But, if he were our coach, I'd probably like him. He's a football guy, he's not flashy, and his teams play hard. They seem to do "more with less" consistently, and that team deserves better support than a half-filled stadium on a weekly basis.

What happened to Mizzou's running game? Roundtree was a hoss last year, especially against UT, and they've been very solid in the past. Maybe Kelly Bryant being a mediocre passer made their team more predictable? Maybe their OL isn't that great? And then there's Dooley, too.

Losing Jennings next year will be like losing Dobbs, probably worse only because of JG playing well in big games last year (@ Auburn and against UK). We subconsciously know it's coming, but reality won't fully set in until next season gets rolling. Those kinds of players are invaluable on the field and in the locker room. Trey Smith could be that guy, but he needs to go get drafted in the 1st round and make some money. I'm sure there will be other players to step up, but it just won't be the same knowing what JJ went through and accomplished while at UT.
I'd take Odom as the ILB coach every year of the decade if Sherrer were to get a job elsewhere. But I hope not, I think Sherrer has done a good job so far.

I think at this point skill guys are taking a flyer on Pruitt. He’s probably known in circles to take you and try you on defense first. But the emergence of this offense can do wonders. Maybe the recruiting resources are being mostly spent on defense and OL. Get that right and the rest will follow.

Yeah it all starts in the trenches!

I’m sure there is one, but I’m having a hard time naming a starter we’ve lost for the season due to a game-day injury?

Help me out..
