ON NIGEL WARRIOR SITTING NEXT TO HIM IN MEETINGS, THAT HELPING HIM PROGRESS
“Let me tell you something about Nigel, I probably in all the years I’ve coached, I probably haven’t coached a guy that has improved as much as he has, since we’ve been here. That’s a credit to him, the work he’s put in, the understanding of what we’re trying to do defensively, him making all the checks back there. He’s a very physical player, has really good ball skills. What I’ve seen is he’s always had it in him, now he has the confidence to turn it loose and go. The other night when (Missouri) threw that bubble screen and he came shooting out of there, he was in a different speed than everyone else and tackled the guy for a 5-yard loss.
“Against Kentucky, a play that a lot of people forget about, they kind of had us right there on that reverse. He comes out of the top, doesn’t give up one-for-one in the open field, and just bam. Knocks a guy straight down. It turns into second-and-6 and it very well could’ve been a 15 or 20-yard gain.”
Sure, Indiana would be an easy win. But think of the momentum we'd have if we beat Michigan. If we lost, so what, we're the underdogs in a meaningless bowl. But if we won, offseason hype would be niceGimme a cupcake in the bowl game. Our recovery has been great but we’ve not beaten a ranked team and have held on late against some bad teams. Not ready for Penn State or Michigan
Give me a good team..a measuring stick. I believe our kids are mature enough.Gimme a cupcake in the bowl game. Our recovery has been great but we’ve not beaten a ranked team and have held on late against some bad teams. Not ready for Penn State or Michigan
It could be BVS coming out, but I agree with @nicksjuzunk. I wish we were ready for Michigan or Penn, but I’d rather go into the offseason with 8 wins and the hype. Then again, big risk, big reward. If we were to pull an upset, would be tremendous.Sure, Indiana would be an easy win. But think of the momentum we'd have if we beat Michigan.
