Found this gem in a Kentucky thread, those idiots to the north think that they're going to end with a class similar to ours šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
Few things here...

I canā€™t remember a player from the state of Kentucky we wanted. Maybe Brohm back in the day.

Their overall record is better in past 5 years however 4-1 head to head. In fact they have three wins in 35 years against us.

Saying we are living in the past when they donā€™t have a past or present or future.

Tennessee returned to the practice field for the first time in over two weeks today in preparation of their appearance in the TaxSlayer Bowl on Jan. 2 against Indiana. The Vols were a little light on numbers today at several positions due to the fact that 12 players graduating this weekend and many of those spending time with their families as a result of that.

Those absences were particularly notable at receiver without standouts Jauan Jennings and Marquez Callaway who are two of the graduates. That gave a young guy like Ramel Keyton ample opportunity to get extra reps, which he took advantage of with several nice snags during the routes on air periods we were able to observe.

Brandon Kennedy, who was another of the graduates, was absent from practice today though we would assume that was more a result of his recent surgery.

During the routes on air portion of practice Jarrett Guarantano was by far the most accurate of the quarterbacks. He looked sharp with no indication that he was rusty as a result of the Volsā€™ time off over the past two weeks. The same wasnā€™t true of Brian Maurer. The freshman stuck a couple of dimes in there to receivers but was also way off target on a few attempts.

On the offensive line, and elsewhere, it looked like it was really back to basics with fundamentals being the theme of the day. The O-line spent a chunk of the early portion of practice simply working on ā€˜get-offsā€™ and tandem blocks. Itā€™s always interesting to note that despite being the most accomplished player up front Trey Smith is always working himself into position to get extra reps in whatever drill may be going on at the time.

Defensively, it was like the offense all about fundamentals, for the linebackers it was a lot of footwork drills as well as some pass coverage reads based on formations and motions. Henry Toā€™oToā€™o continues to work with the elbow brace and the knee brace, but didnā€™t miss any reps. For the safeties it was all about technique and ball skills work as it was for the cornerbacks who as always was getting Jeremy Pruittā€™s full attention in the individual periods.

For the ends/OLBā€™s, there was a fundamental focus on using your hands to get off blocks and to beat tackles in pass rush work. Darrel Taylor who graduated today was not at practice. For Tracy Rockerā€™s group, not surprising it was a about gap control and gap integrity. Darrel Middleton was on the practice field working with the defensive line. There have been rumors about his standing academically. Finals finished yesterday.

Tight ends coach Brian Niedermeyer was not with the tight ends today. Heā€™s on the road recruiting and will return later this evening for practice this weekend and the official visit weekend.

17-13.........

I don't mind taking more DL in this class. With Crouch, Roman, Henry at LB last class...as well as JJP and Banks on roster I like what we have at that group. Adding the Memphis Trio will help fill out the group. We'll return all of our OLBs except for Taylor as well, so should be pretty solid at ILB/OLB.

Can never have enough big, strong bodies on the DL though and some of the more athletic guys can move to OLB.

Lol.

2016 - 7-6
2017 - 7-6
2018 - 10-3
2019 - 7-5 (pending the Belk Bowl results because they are not playing in the TaxSlayer Bowl)

So.... they had one great year where they had a fantastic defense that sent a bunch to the league. Good for them. They will be a perennial 7-6 team with the occasional 10-3 season when the stars, planets, and Krogers all align. They are an after thought.

All you have to say is that they beat us twice during the worst 9 year stretch in our program history. We still beat them when they had their best record in 35 years. They will always be Kentucky.

Death, taxes, and beating the $#!+ out of Kentucky. I enjoy the heck out of that game. Butch Jones/ Dooley only managed to lose once during their time. They only got us twice during worst stretch in our history. They could be undefeated going into that game and I absolutely know we are winning.
We could not show up for the game and at worst it's a coin toss.

They have a Thread called Tennessee, that's how pathetic these people are

We lead the series with them 81-25-9. In the past 35 years, they have beaten us 3 times and each of those wins was by less than 7 points. Dooley accounts for one of those and Lyle accounts for one. If we had hired competent coaches then they probably wouldn't have won those either.

I believe if Gaulden could catch, Butch never loses.

Who in their right mind does that? They own our series. We canā€™t say jack until we turn it around.
I agree. But letā€™s not act like there arenā€™t several who constantly crap on Florida during the offseason and claim weā€™re right there with, or have surpassed them as a program.

Chaney adapts to his HC and QB. Bert wanted boring and so did Kirby to an extent and Chaney obliged. His first run here both Kiffin and Dooley wanted high-powered ones and that's what they got, especially once Bray entered the picture.
Kiffin was the definition of boring ground and pound while here but other than that agree.
