Holiday & Hyatt both being 4.3 guys coming in is gonna be huge. Who knows if either make a big impact on Saturday, but the benefits of having to practice with that kind of speed will benefit the secondary/defense a ton.

I am most excited for Small, I just like everything about the kid. His size, tape, measurables, school, everything.

Yea i don’t buy into those 40 times at all. I actually think Holliday looks faster on tape to me than Hyatt but we will see. Hyatt looks stiff to me and runs straight up.

Yeah Calloway is a stud. So is Lawrence. Think Eason and French will be able to help immediately too. Slaughter is another sleeper.

Slaughter is interesting to me. He has good tape and it’s not like Herm doesn’t know what a good DB looks like. There’s so many good players around him and the competition he plays in... it’s easy to get overlooked.

After watching the provided films on our guys....

Favorite player/instant impact: Whitehead (and Joseph if he comes)

Sleeper: Dominican Bailey. I think he’s pretty athletic and quick. Think he could develop into a very good interior pass rusher like Kyle Phillips did. That’s who he reminds me of. He could get into better shape and be about 6-2 275ish which is about what Kyle played at.

Also really like Jimmy Calloway. Think he looks the most ready to make an impact from WR.

Bust (there’s always a few): Tyler Baron. I think his “explosiveness” is overrated and doesn’t use his hands at all. Not saying he can’t become a good player but he looks like more of a project than prospect to me. Don’t really love Hyatt either.

My point was he may have stuck with JG just like he stuck with Franks. My opinion is that he thinks he is great with QBs, and there is evidence to support that, and he might have continued to work with him. He is a very good coach and Florida is very good. I hate it. We still have ground to make up for sure.

Absolutely, I think you’re right. Either he would have gotten more out of JG or just simply moved on to a backup or grad transfer QB. I don’t think he would have continued to try with JG as long as our coaches have after all the poor performances.

That’s fine but I’m just talking about their tape and what they looked like on the field. Track times are different and don’t always translate to on field. I also don’t buy into these “verified” 40s from camps and stuff. Recruiting is a sleezy business and they are favors everywhere. There’s countless examples of them not matching up.

Football speed can be completely different tho.. I agree Holiday does look faster on film. Glad we got both.

Lazy as hell and doesn’t use his hands at all. Those were my biggest issues with him. He should’ve put up insane numbers vs the competition at catholic.
