Again, Pruitt wanted Weinke on staff. Tyson Helton had already been named Offensive Coordinator/QB Coach in December. Weinke was hired by Pruitt sometime around February and we had just lost our RBs coach. So Weinke got the nod to take the RB coach position so that Pruitt could have him on staff. Don’t really know why that is hard to understand. (RB coaches make more then analysts)
No I understand all that. What I don’t understand is if he’s this great QB guru why he still isn’t in the NFL. They don’t just let those guys walk. Somebody would’ve paid him.

Question there is was Helton "managing" JG helping him develop? I feel like if you tailor your gameplan/play calling to be limited by your QB you're hindering the team as well as the QB. Does it give you better results? Typically yeah it should.

There's no question though. If JG is ever going to be better than average this is the year. Same OC/QB coach, 5 star on campus wanting his job, easily the best OL he's had in front of him with arguably the most talented RB group as well.

People may act like the WRs will hinder him, but honestly don't buy it at all. Much as I love Jennings & Callaway I don't know that Palmer, Johnson, Gibbs, Keyton can't be as productive if not more so. I also think the TEs will be improved. I love moose, but I'm not sure how great he was coaching TEs. Big time happy he's on the defensive side where he's more comfortable and having Coach O to step-up to do TEs is huge.
To your 1st paragraph - I have no idea and it's a gray area. Lots of ways to spin it - ie, is it better to let your QB (and team) have success and confidence being managed or fail and lose confidence forcing square pegs into round holes? Just an example. Jmo, but the 8 months of offseason are times to develop and see if a player can succeed within a system. Maybe a few games early in the season too. Then you have to play your best ball, not for the future.

I'm growing confidence in this WR corps too - though Bill C. would have an opposite view of returning so little production at WR. Simonton wrote a good article on this about a month ago.

I'm just optimistically hoping we can simply break-even at WR. RB/OL should push the offense further and RZ can't possibly be worse. Rushing production and RZ offense were our downfalls last year, not throwing between the 20s.

Kasim Hill was listed as a "newcomer" (added to the scholarship) with the early enrolled freshmen.

Make no mistake about it, Holiday, Bailey, Hill, Maurer, JT, JG... all in spring ball and all could be in the same QB room. I think the starting QB position is going to be wide open this off-season.

I'm fully pulling for Holiday myself. If he develops his throw game...with 4.4 speed...done deal.

Well sometimes the cookie just crumbles a different way man. Weinke got replaced in January of 2017 as QB coach for the Rams. Then Alabama picked him up 2 months later as an analyst. Which Weinke ended up getting even more coaching experience from.

IMO JG's problem is all mental. It's like when he doesn't care what the coaches or fans think ... and just plays the game .. he is much better. If he is afraid he might get benched due to making a mistake, then he plays more conservative and holds the ball too long. I think that is why he played better coming off the bench.

If the coaches can figure out a way for JG to play more confidently and him to not worry about making mistakes, then he could have a breakout senior season... or HB will be starting sooner than later if JG does not overcome these mental hurdles.

Palmer was 2nd on the team last year in receptions, and Brandon Johnson lead the team in receptions his sophomore year when Jennings was injured. We return 2 guys with over 60 receptions and 700+ yards each to the WR group. We also have Gibbs & Keyton/Tillman who all have an entire season's worth of practice and film study under their belt now.

My optimism is greatly helped by the best WR group we've recruited in a long ass time too. Closing with Wideman was huge. We have 3 top 50 ranked WRs in one class, also added 2 transfer WRs and then who knows how good Holiday and/or Beckwith could be for us.

Yeah I agree. Hopefully those compensting factors can overcome history and normal trends. I'm 50/50 rn, partially because JJ was just so good last year. He's a monster to replace.

The Office: Coronavirus

Michael ignores the “work from home” memo because he thinks that everyone should be together at a time like this

Dwight acts completely normal & claims genetic immunity

Angela wears a hazmat suit

Kevin says that he’s had it for weeks & feels fine

Creed is somehow Patient Zero

Stanley is on a beach with a margarita as a video conference begins

Andy looked at WebMD & is now losing his mind

Michael would insist that everyone comes into work insisting that only old people like Phyllis have to worry about it

Jim and Pam try to convince Dwight that Jim has it and at first Dwight doesn't care but when he sees Jim coughing and sneeze alone in the break-room, Dwight quarantines the rest of the office by locking them all in, even overnight

Kelly would keep pestering Ryan asking him that if she had it would he still kiss her so he tried to avoid her

Meredith goes home and immediately starts drinking

Toby started the virus says Michael

The episode ends with Michael shopping alone at Costco on a Saturday. He’s excited because he usually “can’t even get in the door”

Without question, hoping Beckwith emerges as that same type of monster. I also am really excited to see what these TEs do. DWA was ultimately disappointing, JUCO guys just seem to be misses more than hits. I like Warren, Lowe, Fant, Brown, Pope and Craig a lot it's a good balance I think. Lowe's HS tape showed he's a very dynamic pass catcher and with Pope/Craig/Warren ya just got some size/blocking with a bit of edge since they are local products.

Offense has be excited, Tee gained tons of weapons/speed. We upgraded at RB coach with Jay. We upgraded TE coach with O and then we added Cade on OL and didn't lose Trey to the draft? Yeah...I'm going to be obnoxiously hyped up.

10th ranked class and who knows what Evans is going to do...without him the RB room looks good as is, adding him they could become great.

JG discussion or CCW discussion? Two sides of the same coin. Deserves OCD image...
