This weeks announcers for the UT v UF game are a couple of guys named Bob Wischusen and Dan Orlovsky. I can't recall ever hearing these two announcers call a game.

When has he ever been at a school that could afford to let him hire good defensive coaches and afford to let him recruit defensive players? His name and offensive reputation allows him to cheaply recruit offensive guys, but you need money and facilities and a proven DC to recruit top end guys on the other side of the ball than the one you're known for.

Better than hearing Gary talk down about UT for 4 hours and reference Tim Tebow as often as possible.

he was a qb at one of the directional micigan schools, central, if memory serves. did he play for butch jones?

book is still unwritten on pruitt. hard to say one way or the other at this point. GSU was bad. BYU had a CBJ flavor to it.

but Auburn and KY last year show promise.....recruiting the right type of players shows promise.

boils down to how well the continue to recruit, and more importantly, develop the rest of the roster.

need more time either way. i think you'll get to a point sometime in the future where anyone will be able to look back and say "see we should've known back then"........good or bad..........might be looking at the losses and saying or migh be looking at the wins and saying it.

roster is still the biggest issue. fix that, and let's see........


all the rest, just fodder as we distract ourselves from Florida week.

I still don’t understand how you blame the BYU game on the coaches.... costly turnovers and a completely blown assignment at the end cost the game. Coaches can only do so much and they had Tennessee in position to win that game. Players didn’t execute.

I have no doubt Lane would've won big here but those wins would of probably been taken away a few years later. The guy can flat out coach. He is still one of the best X's and O's guys I've ever seen not named Saban.

Good grief can we stop talking about other coaches. We have a coach. He isn't going anywhere, especially not this year. Kiffin is awful, he tanked this program. If he were so great he wouldn't be at FAU. Leach isn't coming here. And if he did, he wouldn't win here. This is Florida week. We are not having a coaching search. What the heck is wrong with you guys letting hank and Kingston take over this thread with this garbage talk?

Yeah don't forget, @HankHill also said A Taylor was a future first round draft pick... and he's not even starting, NM the kid basically cost us the BYU game...
This team needs to stay together through these tough games, not roll over, and that is on the staff...
Recruiting will be tough this year because many thought we'd come out better to start the season. I still think we will keep some kids because they will see we are improving overall as a team, we just need talent.
Our QB and a few other spots have held us back so far, and we'd probably be 3-0 but ugly...We will have much more talent that is experienced next year and JG will be sitting the bench third string or transfer. Pruitt is not going anywhere. If he tanks next season, then I am officially on board with a coaching search.

THE KEY TO THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON is holding this team together, keep the fight in them, and make sure they are competing and improving every game. Do not let them Quit. This is 100% on Pruitt and the staff. We have a few leaders on the team and they will have to step up through the fire.

well, game is on the line, one play to go.....why not call a time out and make sure everyone's up to speed on what they're expected to do?

it's monday morning qb'ing at it's finest..........but that would have been one way to avoid the disaster that was that last play.

or kick fg's insted of going for it on 4th down there? then the late game FG doesn't matter.

don't get it twisted, i'm not saying i blame the coaches per se. i am saying the way we lost that game had a very CBJ flavor to it, a la OU and FL 2015......and if those types of things become the norm, like they did with CBJ, then that's bad, and that IS on the coaches....it becomes who they are, just like it did with CBJ.

For those of you complaining about the coaching talk, that’s what happens when you start 0-2 to two non power 5 teams. It allows for speculation.

We all want to beat Florida. Most of think it’s unlikely. If that’s the case, and we lose, the speculation ramps up as we stare down the barrel of 1-7.

I know it’s irritating because you all believe it’s a localized issue of a few posters (myself included) on this board. But the national media is on this already. Ask anyone about Jeremy Pruitt’s chances to survive this and they’ll laugh.

Leech was horrible his fist few years at Washington State including some 3-9 seasons and a loss to Portland state. So I guess he can’t be the answer either right.

It’s clear it’s just too early to make such declarations on whether Pruitt will work out. So please take the coaching search discussion elsewhere.

It doesn’t have to be just Leach. We can add others to the list. Lane Kiffin, Hugh Freeze, maybe even Urban Meyer after he gets ill and has to leave USC.

Taylor is a man corner. We play almost exclusively zone this year. He was great as a freshman in a man scheme, he isn’t a zone cover.

It’s like josh Norman being great for the panthers playing zone but he’s ass with Washington in a man defense scheme.

it was brought up this morning on Charlotte sports radio.....and the cursory "outside looking in" point of view says Tennessee is terrible, that pruitt won't last, but if he doesn't, who do they hire?" was literally the context of the conversation about Tennessee this morning.

i blow it off because of the context of it being Charlotte sports radio, and there beign no frame of reference other than a couple guys talking.

but yeah, i do agree, the further out the peopel are that are having the discussion, nationally or even regionally, the assumption is that pruitt wont' survive, be it this year or next.

not worth getting upset or anything.....it's a soundbite right now in a general discusion about college football.....

That’s all it takes. Recruiting then stalls or regresses due to the doubt and you are forced to make a change.

no he hasn't. you have a vocal minority that post here that are "out", literally, on pruitt.

but here's the dirty little secret...they've been "out" on him since day 1.

i think if you were able to get a good read on the fan base as a whole, most realize this roster is not in the greatest shape, and that it's going to take some time. that, and we need some stability.

no one is going to forgive how this season started. but i would wager most are willing to play this out a little bit before we get serious about firing up the coaching hotboard again.
