Sorry, meant Ole Miss. I don’t blame them for hiring Kermit - he’s probably a better candidate. But Forbes thought he had it “behind the scenes.”

Forbes is obviously a good coach, but Wake has become a tough job with the ACC additions and better basketball at UVA and even places like Miami. I thought he would hold out for something better.

I visited Wake on a campus tour. While it’s a cool little campus, it’s not for everyone because it’s kind of secluded and not integrated into the town.

How funny is it that UGA keeps winning all these recruiting titles and continue to have no championships to show for it. Not only that, but they’re development is clearly pathetic. All these recruiting titles but LSU, Bama, Michigan, OSU all had more players drafted. Heck, Utah had as many players drafted as recruiting champions UGA.

Kirby is awful. He’s butch with more talent

Yeah, it’s going to be tough to succeed. He’s obviously been holding out for the Tennessee job and probably would’ve gotten it had Barnes went to UCLA. I guess he figures this is his chance.

He’s a good recruiter so my guess is he’ll have some success. Get to the tournament as an at large in 3 or 4 years.

Tua stole their soul.

Been in the works for a couple weeks. Once Currie got the money from boosters to fire Manning I figured Forbes was on the line.

Steve got pissed because he thought he had the Mississippi State job and they pulled the rug out from under him at the last minute. He’ll go to Wake Forest with a chip on his shoulder.

He obviously will still be at the top of our list when Barnes retires. He, Lanier and McMahon.

Exactly. I'm all for him getting some years in at Wake Forest. Allows him some big time ACC experience and get better before Barnes retires. Assuming he does well there I can see us then offering him the position if we choose not to hire internally.

There are active threads on TN Recruiting on the BAMA, UGA, A&M, UF, LSU and Auburn Boards

Number one in the nation?
i think that's gonna be a little tough, unless we do recruit over some of hte guys at the bottom or they get some good sized bumps. i did some class calculator stuff, and with what i felt like is pretty solid, plus what is conisdered doable at the moment, i had us at 20 commits, total score of 270. puts us at 2. still pretty well behind OSU....plus you still have no idea how some of the heavy hitters behind us will wind up doing...UGA, BAma, LSU, Auburn, Florida, aTm.....Clemson....i mean we're ahead of all those teams right now....but they all only have a handful of commits so they'll all move up the boards at some point.

and looking at last year's rankings the top 2 or 3 were well over 300 points.

not saying it's not possible. lol...can't even believe i'm saying that in freaking April. lol......

but it's probably gonna be a bit tough. i think it's fairly safe to say that top 5 is definitely a realistic goal this cycle considering where things are....right now......
