Basically states that most college football coaches are in favor of the one-time transfer waiver, if the NCAA or the conferences will loosen the 25 scholarship limit each year. Basically, the number of kids wanted to transfer is almost exponentially higher than the number of available spots. Out of 105 ACC players that entered the portal, less than 20 ended up on FBS rosters, with less than 10 in Power 5 schools. If the NCAA and the conferences will either allow grad transfers, early draft qualifiers, and players rules ineligible to removed retrospectively from the 25 count each year, this rule would be more effective. Apparently, even a floating 50 player limit covering two years has been proposed, but not getting much traction.
Seems pretty paternal (in a bad way) for the NCAA to limit transfers because players make stupid decisions, but I understand the rationale for coaches looking after their players. A few seem afraid of a true free agency in college football, but I think most understand it's coming one way or another.
I've been a Pruitt guy ever since the hire. He has had some lumps and it was expected. But he's doing it. And we will be back stronger than ever. The rest of the SEC knows what's coming and they are scared. You see it all over social media. It's time.
Remember all that nonsense that came out about Pruitt being hard to work for, etc. This staff and these players love that dude and so do I. Just Pruitt till we die, baby.
