He shouldn’t be surprised. Mullen offense is not RB friendly thus they don’t recruit well to it. It’s designed for the QB to be run friendly which takes away from the RB touches. He never recruited well at the position at miss st. Even Urban struggled to produce RBs until Herman came along tweaked some things in the offense at Ohio st And they got to be a popular spot for RBs after Elliot.

That's not exactly true. Both Aeris Williams and Kylin Hill were blue-chip running backs. The difference is that in MS, if LSU and Bama don't want them, you only have to beat Ole Miss. In Florida, everyone in the country tries to get them, and you have FSU and Miami in-state.

Phillips and Tuttle actually got coached by him and are promising NFL players. KMac got drafted.

I know they did, but i imagine they would have been one of our best defensive lines ever if Pruitt had coached them, especially in 2016 with adding Kongbo. Hell if we actually had a SC program worth anything who knows if DKjr, Sutton and JRM would’ve gotten hurt beginning of that year

KMac is the outlier. Don’t know if he’d have picked up NT duties well enough in that first year transition. Tuttle and Phillips were actually playing the position their body types were best suited for.
