A day without a commitment. I'm like

On the 247 podcast, one of them mentioned a stat that based accuracy on how catchable the ball was (if the receiver drops it but it should’ve been a catch, then it won’t count as an incompletion) and Newman was one of the worst in college football. Don’t see him being much of a game changer.

For perspective, burrow’s catchable ball accuracy was much higher his senior year than his official accuracy because his receivers had an abnormally high drop rate. As soon as they started catching the ball he became the best college QB of all time.

Wonder what that stat was. There is adjusted completion%. He ranked just below the midpoint for P5 passers (41st of 76 eligible QBs). Don't see elite. But serviceable.

Interestingly, Fromm was actually worse last year lol. He went from 11th in 2018 to 56th last year. Woof.

It might be tom fornelli tracking it. He’s the one that mentioned it

The Last Dance has been a nice trip down memory lane and only solidified the notion that MJ is the GOAT. No doubt, Kobe and Lebron are right there in the NBA, but MJ has the greatest competitive drive and skill combination I've ever seen of any player in any sport.

I agree but would add Tiger as well.

I'm no expert in qb evaluations but it seems like once you check all of the other boxes accuracy is what makes a great quarterback. You can get away with a lot at lower levels of competition but the guys who dominate on Sundays are the ones who can make throws that beat even the best coverage. In fact fivetirtyeight says that based on the statistics the best predictor of nfl success is completion percentage adjusted for the level of competition and the average yard per completion (corrects for lots of dump passes/easy completions). And those stats are basically just a measure of accuracy. The NFL Is Drafting Quarterbacks All Wrong

Damn! Finebaum really grilling this 13 year old boy with personal questions. “Do you like blindfolded van rides, Timmy?”

I’m not Rusty but common sense will tell you that narrative is false. Otherwise, Arik Gilbert would have been a dawg. Rusty and Arik’s family are REALLY close. Kids in Ga rely heavily on Rusty. He puts on camps for these kids to get noticed. Kids from UTC level to UT. There is another recruit this cycle that is leaning on Rusty for recruiting advice and is a top choice for UGA, kid isn’t leaning UGA.
