I just pulled up the current radar map on Weather Channel. Does anyone notice that a certain major Tennessee city is missing? OMG - has the Weather Channel been acquired by ESPN? Do they hate us also?

Decided to drag the kayak out to clean it up a little.

Kayaks and possums...last time I went kayaking in the French Broad, a big ole dead possum was sittin therr floating in the river at the put-in. We had 2 first time river rats with us and it didn't exactly endear them. Nor did the fake "upcoming waterfall" if we didn't get out at the nearest brewery

Off topic thread..........so here it goes.............

I gave a kid a golf lesson yesterday. He did really well. His dad came to me today and said his son's Baseball coach said, "No more golf. It's messing up his swing." THE KID IS 6.

WTH???

Reverse deal for my daughter and me. She picked up a small kid's iron at the local driving range at age 4. She preceded to lay a ball down on a mat, grip the club, execute a near perfect swing and hit the ball square. The local teaching pro, range owner and I all went "wow" at the same time. From that day forward softball was off the table. Just a natural. She played in HS, but got married a few years later and started having babies. Can still go out and break 80 from the men's senior tees with no practice.

I will say the opposite. I probably played more baseball, but if anything, it effed my golf swing.

Imo kids should not be in organized sports until teenagers.they don't have to be told how to have fun.

Specialty coaching until about 14 IMO. That includes multiple sports if that's what the kid wants to do. Ran the travel grind from 7 to 16 ,wasted time and very expensive. Private lessons would be more beneficial for the kids .

Competed the BBQ tour in the BBQ capital of Lockhart, TX today. Tried Smitty’s, Kreuz, and Black’s. All three were phenomenal, but I did pick a favorite. It’s Black’s.

Being from Memphis, I’ve never had good beef BBQ but knew how good pork BBQ was. The authentic Texas beef BBQ was life changing.

Mississippi does some good BBQ although the best BBQ I’ve ever had is from a gas station in West Tennessee - located in Big Sandy
