Since I’ll probably be occupied most of the day tomorrow, happy Father’s Day to all you dads, grandads, and male role models out there! If you still have your dad, be sure and tell him that you love him. I know I will, especially since this will be the first year for my dad without his own dad.

Not long after we lost my grandpa last year, I heard the Zac Brown cover of “Leader of the Band.” I’m man enough to say that I ugly cried for my dad and especially for his loss.

Now with Father’s Day here, I dedicate this song to my dad, the one who’s taught me what it takes to be a dad, even if “my life has been a poor attempt to imitate” him. Thank you, Daddy.

This song came out last year, I think, and it busts me up every time. Horrible driving down the road and trying not to cry(and failing). Five days and it will be 4 years since I lost my dad. Miss him every single day.
