Id say QB is even. Bennett looked pretty solid to me, although he may have more of a propensity to make mistakes against a Pruitt defense. A defense hopefully with Shamburger and Bryce Thompson healthier.

I'd give them a slight edge at RB and receiver. A slight one. But if we play smart and better than last week and force some turnovers by Bennett we can squeak one out.

Bennett gonna show why he was a walk-on coming up lol

OL - UT
QB - UT
RB - Even
WR - Even

DL - UGA
LB - UGA
CB - Even ( I am counting on Sham being back)
Safety - UGA

Thoughts?
I would give them a slight edge at receiver due to how talented Pickens is. We dont have a true #1 that can match up to him. However I would say LB are even.

I’m reviewing the Georgia Auburn tape right now and through the first quarter Georgia is jamming the receivers coming off the line on every play. Auburn doesn’t have an offensive line that can slow the Georgia pass rush. My initial thought is swing passes or short throws and probably jet sweeps are not going to be uncontested. Georgia keeps the line of scrimmage crowded sideline to sideline. We’re going to have to stretch the field. To me that suggest Velus Jones and/or Jalin Hyatt need to be on the field for every snap. We need their speed. Of course they’ve got to be able to beat the jams. I think our offensive line at its best can buy Guarantano enough time to allow our faster receivers to get down field. If we can’t stretch the field we may have to rely heavily on the run game and this is where getting Small a few reps in the Missouri game may pay off. I wished Tee Hodge or Len’Neth Whitehead were ready. I think we need a true power back against Georgia’s front seven. jmo.

ESPN’s FPI in the preseason I think forecasted us to win 4 games this year once we went to an all-conference schedule. They have adjusted that now to 6 wins and after this next win (against Georgia) I think it goes up again. I think as it stands now we can take Auburn and FPI still thinks we have a better shot at Florida than we do with Gus. I think that’s because Auburn is on the road and Florida is at home. No matter, we win both. After this week, we’re probably Atlanta bound and not even Alabama can stand in our way. jmo.

After we beat Georgia this week I think FPI, since it’s only data driven, will likely project us also to beat Auburn and Florida. That is definitely going to change the ESPN talking heads conversation about who is who this year in the Southeastern Conference. jmo.

Was that a subtweet about Salter? I forgot why they had beef with us.

I just know it’s when we were on our recruiting run and everything was all UT all the time. I thought it was in regards to Mondon. Oklahoma was mentioned in his recruiting a good amount at one time.

I hope UGA's team underestimates us as much as their fanbase. They think we don't have a single WR on the team that can get separation and that our RBs are mediocre. According to them, all we have is a good OL and no playmakers.

Kirby won’t let them. I get the feeling Kirby hates him some Tennessee.

And I know the story of CJP driving kirbys wife to the hospital, but I have a feeling these two coaches aren’t very fond of each other.

But even if CJP and KS were friends to this day, KS knows how huge this game is for recruiting. He knows he needs to embarrass us to say “see, same old Vols” to Mims, Mondon, etc.

Hard to do that coming off the Auburn game which players will have seen as much bigger both from a rivalry standpoint and a ranking standpoint (despite Auburn having been straight over-rated by the polls). BAMA is also the game that follows us. Kirby may hate us, probably does given we were killing UGA when he was a student, but we're wedged in the perfect spot for a team that just beat their biggest rival and is looking to topple Bama to overlook.

Georgia so far is #1 in rushing defense,

The encouraging part to this is maybe Arky and Aub are just that bad at rushing:

Arky vs Miss St: 37 rushes for 63 yards
Auburn vs UK: 30 for 91 yards
2.29 ypc total

Vs UGA:
Arky 28 for 77 yards
Aub 22 for 39 yards
2.32 ypc total

On the flipside, offensively we are averaging 4.35 ypc and have a plus-added advantage.

Against other (very good) opponents compared to against us:
USCe allowed .7 ypc LESS to Florida
Mizzou allowed 1.47 ypc LESS to Bama

I think they are but there's more. I happened to just have been working on an in depth comparison of our two teams (Tennessee & Georgia) which I'll post here:

I’m assuming fall camp is now over. If you recall Pruitt said we would carry fall camp into the first two weeks of the season due to having so many guys miss the regularly scheduled fall camp due to quarantines. I make note of this because our starters on the defensive line were I think an unexpected group. I think most observers were looking for Solomon, Emerson, and Middleton to be the likely starters, primarily because, well, they were the primary returning starters. Instead we have had Simmons, Bumphus, and Butler. There could be something more than the quarantines at play here but I suspect not. All three of last year’s primary starters on the DL saw some action against Missouri. I think they may see a lot more action this week. Even Garland has been bumped from the starting lineup, a role he had for a number of games last season. The guys we’ve been starting have actually done a pretty good job though Simmons may have been injured a bit in the Missouri game. We play a lot of guys on the DL so I think it will be interesting to see which of the guys have the more snaps this week. jmo.

We pretty much know what we have at linebacker. Henry is the QB and he starts at what is listed as the Will but I think it’s the common Mike position. Crouch has been starting at what we list as the MLB. I think Pruitt calls it the Money. I think it’s actually the common Will. Bennett has been the starter at SAM which for us I think that’s the Edge guy. It's sort of funny that Deandre doesn't even start yet is winning accolades. jmo.

In the back end we started Slaughter at Star against SC but swapped him with Bryce at some point, Bryce having started at SS against SC. At Star against MO we started Theo. Alontae started both games at CB and George was listed as the starter at the other corner against SC. Bryce was listed opposite Taylor as the other starting corner against MO but he only played I think on 3rd downs or in spots. The other safety starter against SC was Trevon and he also started against MO. He was joined by Jaylen for the MO game.

On paper there’s not a lot of talent difference between our starting DL and Georgia’s starting DL. The same is true at linebacker. Across the board there’s just not a lot of difference, on paper. I don’t even think there’s a lot of difference in class between the front seven starters. Georgia’s edge would likely be in depth for the front seven. I think we have the advantage talent-wise at Mike but they have a senior. They have Dean, a SO, where we have Crouch or Banks. On the edge they have Ojulari. Their front seven is pretty stout but I think it’s biggest strength is probably the depth behind the starters. jmo.

The real strength of Georgia’s defense is its secondary. Where we have 5-stars galore on our offensive line, Georgia has 5-stars galore manning the back end of their defense and none of the starters are freshmen. Of course Georgia also has tremendously talented depth behind those starters. It’s my understanding that if you have the guys in the backend who can play man defense that gives you more leeway to both stop the run and pressure the quarterback. That is why some say the secondary is the most important position group on the defensive side of the ball. jmo.

So while Georgia has more talent on the roster (paper-wise) than we do right now, only 11 guys can get on the field at any given time. Their advantage, aside from their secondary, appears to all be in their depth. They don’t have a lot of drop off when rotating guys and they can rotate guys at every position though from a production standpoint, their starters dominate. jmo.

Both our defense and theirs have recorded 5 sacks through 2 games and our opponents I’d argue were of similar capability. We’ve recorded 14 total TFLs; Georgia has had 10. We are +1.50 in turnover margin; Georgia is +1.00. We’ve had 9 total penalties in all phases of the game for 70 yards; Georgia has been penalized 20 times in their first two games for 167 yards. In fact they are the most penalized team in the conference at this point.

Again, given that we’ve faced similar opponents, I think the comparisons of our performances are informative. Against Arkansas Georgia gave up 2.75 yards per rush attempt. Against Auburn they gave up 1.77 yards per attempt. We gave up 2.54 yards per attempt to South Carolina and 3.41 per attempt to Missouri. The passer rating for Franks against Georgia was 97.51; for Nix it was 84.67. Collin Hill was at 129.89 against us and Bazelak was at 139.59. We’ve had 7 QBH; Georgia has had 3. We’ve had 4 PBUs and Georgia has had 8.

Through our first two games we’ve rushed for 4.35 yards per attempt; Georgia has rushed for 3.71 yards per attempt. We’ve had 6 rushing touchdowns; Georgia has had 3. Guarantano’s passer rating is 143.18 while Bennett’s is 148.74. Guarantano has passed for 2 TDs; Stetson 3. Passing yardage per game for both of these quarterbacks is almost exactly the same. Both teams have given up 4 sacks. We’ve given up 7 TFLs while Georgia has given up 6.

Our offense has scored a total of 8 TDs plus 1 pick-six from our defense. Georgia’s offense has scored a total of 6 TDs plus 1 pick-six from their defense. With field goals we’re 1 for 3; Georgia is 4 for 5. We’re 9 for 9 on PATs; Georgia is 6 for 6. We’re averaging 33.0 points per game; Georgia is averaging 32.0 points per game. We’ve put 6 of 8 punts inside the 20 yard line; Georgia has put 6 of 9 punts inside the 20. 8 of our 12 kickoffs have been touchbacks and 7 of Georgia’s 12 kickoffs have been touchbacks.

We have the better head coach, the better offensive coordinator, the better defensive coordinator, and the better fanbase. #WGWTFA

I would wager that SC and MO are better than Arkansas and Auburn. I am perplexed why Auburn is still ranked. They looked like hot garbage. Their defense looked uninterested in tackling. That was a pitiful display.
