I really wanted LSU this year. They’re struggling with Mizzou so far.

Brennan got rated pretty highly preseason...for someone with no experience. Remember thinking that as odd. LSU lost most of what helped Burrow become epic in one season. This is the LSU that always had the roster...just lacked the quarterback factor.

Watching some of these SEC teams play, I truly believe we're a top5 SEC team.

Top 2 SEC defense at least. Ability to run isn't common among SEC teams this year either, and we can do that as well.

LSU lost their elite minds on both sides of the ball and all of their best players from a year ago (NFL and opt-outs).

They clearly were going to be middle of the pack in the SEC this year.

VOLS will bully the **** out of A&M and Auburn from the West this year as well. 7-3 looking more and more like the floor.

Agree on the throwing part being natural. The ability to read D's and hit windows on time is developed. Trask is not panicking and has hit his second and third receiver repeatedly. He processes what he sees quickly like Wuerffel did for them back in the day.

Mehlan still got lucky with him..accuracy like that can't be taught. Plus..Flahrduh is catching everything thrown up...execution on a high level by receivers making tough catch after tough catch makes you look even smarter than you are..

I've always said Mehlan is a good coach, I have also always said Florida is the perfect place for him, and that he will always be a problem there, but I still don't think he could have done it at UT. His goofy arse couldn't recruit well enough here to do it.

I mean, the guy worked miracles at Memphis.

But now he has to be able to recruit, which he obviously can't do well, at all.

I wonder how keeping Bud Foster as DC for his first couple years affected things. Was it a savvy way to ensure stability in the transition from one regime to another? Or did it create rifts as reported between "Beamer's guys" and "Fuente's guys"?

I originally thought Fuente would be a great fit for VT, but now I think more and more he should have gone to a school with less tradition so that he could build from scratch again.
