I don’t think college Fantasy is approved in tenn
Since we're back on betting - some friends were betting last night and talking in a grouptext, but someone brought up how TN has the highest "hold rate" of all states, ie the lowest payout rate for bettors. Payout is limited to 90% of winnings by the state...

Doesn't seem like a good thing for consumers and could push more back to offshore sites or in-person to get better odds, others will lose their deposit faster. It's ridiculous legislators don't listen to market analysts on how it will affect things. To make up the 10% limit, typical -110 vigs will have go up to -120 or even -125 or they will kill other bets to make it up. Basically going to end up really hard for long term winners to exist...more people will quit early on and it could actually cause the state to lose money. Same as a poker room having extraordinarily high rakes.

The trick for all gambling entities is to let people win a bit to keep them coming back and believe they can keep winning and just got unlucky. The analysts see this, but TN legislators seem to be greedy and shortsighted.

Tennessee Sports Betting Rules Approved Despite Payout Cap

Game plan this weekend run the ball and throw it deep to Hyatt?
#1 pass defense and #4 3rd down defense vs us...yeah I'd think so. But haaave to take our shots. Long drives mean more 3rd downs and...well yeah.

Anyone know why I can’t participate in college football contests on DraftKings? I keep getting an error message after I hit submit. I’ve already participated in a few nfl, madden and free contests. @bignewt

Are you going to the sports book side? Or are you talking dfs?

This is true and unfortunate. I am not sure how this will work in practice, but I assume they will offer competitive odds on popular bets like NFL and college lines, and bury the increase in the more exotic bets. I would want to look at props, parlays, etc. closely.

That draftkings prop was for the Tennessee Arky game.

Yes but I think the deal is with fantasy not regular gambling

I could be wrong but I have done DraftKings for almost 2 years now and do a lot of NFL and Golf fantasy. Last season I tried to do college fantasy and it said it wasn’t approved in my area. Obviously the laws have changed but just sharing that as a possible reason

Which is why the ole local bookie is going to be just fine

Good point, if he is attempting props. If he is trying to use that "odds boost" straight up, then it seems he should have no problem if he's within TN.
DK added college football to their daily fantasy contests list. It's also possible TN is considering daily fantasy to be a form of prop betting?

No idea. I'll try to play one this weekend and see if it lets me.
