Who said I thought we should be competing for a championship in year 3? I do expect us to look competent and trending up which we are clearly not. Keep carrying water though....I’ve seen this movie already in 2012 and 2017.
Then get up and leave if you’ve seen this already. Nobody is making you stay here and belly ache.

If my comments created a misconception, that wasn’t my intent. It isn’t all about money. Fulmer does not want to fire CJP this year. UT went into this thinking it was a five-year rebuild that would require patience, and three years in, there’s little enthusiasm for a coaching search. UT has invested in, and committed to, its HCs and does not want upheaval in its marquee sports right now. Could circumstances cause that to change? I doubt it would be Fulmer’s preference.

The hope is always that a hire will be a good fit with long-term success. Once someone is in a job for a while, it becomes apparent that the person is good at some things and not as good at others. If you look at the modern-day HCs who have had the most success at UT in various sports, you’ll see similarities beyond winning. I’ll leave it at that.

Not joking, he took a 10 on #12 at the Masters but the announcers think he's still the Tiger of old.
He also immediately birdied five of the last six holes after that...which he had also never done at Augusta.

He is still pretty good...you make it sound like he finished in last place. If he had not had the disaster at 12 and just made par...which many great golfers over the years have occasionally had at Augusta National...he would have finished at 8 under..

So, there are rumours now that CJP doesn’t want to be at UT?
IDT anybody is under any illusion that CJP is a long-termer at UT-- and that includes CJP. And recruiting is what it is. But the other part of that equation is keeping the young players we already have and making them believe UT football can be fun again-- the sooner the better. UT is a miserable place right now. The young guys aren't as jaded and ready to fold as the older guys. They still believe.

That's how I interpreted it.

But, my BVS has been acting up for a couple of months.

It’s not that. It’s just the “they want to win and we don’t.” They were in our shoes last year and didn’t fire him. They waited until he started 2-5. Does that mean we learn from them? Maybe- you can argue that. But it doesn’t mean they want to win anymore than we do.

I pull for him every time he plays. When I was growing up tiger was on top, he influenced me to play golf. Hes the goat.

Would yall take Sarkisian as HC?

I think he’d make a great hire for somebody. And certainly for UT. He turned Mac Jones into a great QB. I wonder if he’d rather be back on the west coast... but then again where can he build a champion, because SC probably won’t go that route again.

One poster mentioned that Pruitt was not long term at TN, so now it has been exaggerated to Pruitt never wanted to be here. He wants to replace Saban, blah, blah, blah. It is the VN way.
I just quoted LA's post about JP being a short timer. That was like throwing a match on a pile of oily rags.

Bye weeks and bad football don't mix well on VN.

We really have thrown a lot of money at the assistant pool. If Pruitt wants to throw a fit over not getting something, he can git. Maybe he’ll just get pissed off at the color orange finally and quit.

Lolol. Ok. You’re the one that felt the need to respond to me. We’ll be in a coaching search this year or two years from now. It’s just how soon do you want to start the rebuild.

I actually just said it looks like SC cares about winning. It is yet to be determined if we do or don’t. If we finish 2-8 and will have lost 8 straight games we’ll see where UT is.

Stoops and Orgeron buyouts were so lofty. Malzahn’s buyout, as of Dec. 1, is set at $21,450,000 -Malzahn has the 12th-largest buyout in the nation and fifth-largest in the SEC; his buyout last season.
Fisher’s $53,125,000 buyout is the largest in the SEC and the country, while Saban’s $36.8 million is second in the conference and fourth nationally. Orgeron’s buyout is $23.85 million, which is third in the SEC and eighth nationally. Kentucky’s Mark Stoops, whose buyout is $23.75 million, is fourth in the league and 10th among FBS coaches.
crazy.

Cjp seemed to have many, if not most, of those attributes until this year. Maybe he finds them again before the season is over... Cancelled our otherwise?

I haven't believed they want to change again either. And I think they all knew on some level this all conference schedule probably wouldn't do us many favors.

I have serious doubts about whether or not he can get it done.

I also know way down deep it was going to take longer than three years.

The regression has us all shook. Need a QB ASAP... Need the defense to step up...

More than anything.. Need to find and show some enthusiasm, players and coaches alike.
