Guys Im as frustrated with Pruitt as you are, but this forum has become as unrealistic as those Gruden FF thread back in the day. TN is not firing pruit and hiring Freeze. We just signed Pruitt to an extension. Freeze used his state issued cell to call hookers at OM. Pruitt will be back next year. If we fired pruit, TN wouldn't hire Freeze. Any discussion about Freeze is a fantasy, IMO.

Iowa State isn’t mid-major. If you’re beating Oklahoma and succeeding there, you’re a helluva coach.

Butch Jones had a couple of good seasons at Central Michigan and Cincinnati too.

That wasn't a covid depleted situation and you know it. Plus that was Hamilton (who was an idiot).

Iowa State had one 1 winning season in the previous 10 seasons before he took over and had gone 3-9, 2-10, and 3-9 in the 3 seasons before he arrived. Iowa St has never won 10 games in a season.

And he would only get your attention if he won the Big 12? That’s like saying you’d only be impressed with a Vandy coach if they won the SEC.

Iowa State is historically better than candy and don’t have the academic restrictions either.

My main point is why would anyone want Campbell over Freeze? Beating Bama is better than beating Oklahoma or Texas...

Someone could just as easily point to Freeze's Vanderbilt losses. Campbell is the real deal. Freeze is my first choice, but I would be thrilled with either.

Who wants Campbell over Freeze? You may not GET Freeze. There are other good, quality options out there. Campbell happens to be one of them without taking a flier on a first time head coach.

Matt Campbell isn’t a mid-major HC. He’s succeeding against the big boys. I don’t think he’s a realistic possibility, but reducing what he’s doing in a P5 conference is a dishonest argument.
