Honest question on Pruitt. I think everyone would agree that there is a learning curve for a 1st time head coach - mistakes would be made and hopefully learned from. He had 2 normal years and now a “weird” year. Is there anything people are angry about that could be something he needed to learn and now maybe has learned?
yep, and then we'll have to watch the reply for years to come!
I do. Because if he does that means he’s really good and we’ve had a great year and now have a pipeline for great one and dones to go straight to the NBA. It’s the only way we could ever win a title hereMock draft released today has Keon going #7 to Atlanta...I hope he doesn’t leave after just 1 year.
Outside of the QB fiasco, my biggest concern is probably his passion. Where’s the JP that was fired up every game? The guy who lit into his players and got the most out of them? The coach who annoyed the piss out of Alabama with 3 timeouts before the half and after the game said pack your **** we aren’t losing another game? I don’t see the drive and enthusiasm this year from him. Even when we were 2-0. Something major has changed because “weird” year or not that’s not something that you need a regular offseason for.Honest question on Pruitt. I totally get the argument for getting rid of him now. I just can't see the $$$ being the deciding factor. I think its more on the look of canning him, without see what he can do sans JG. I feel you don't can him and pay that buyout unless you have Freeze locked up. But from all accounts there are too many factions to agree on someone as divisive as Freeze. Our admin would rather keep Pruitt another year, can him if has a losing season, then hire a Dave Doeren/McGoogle knowing we would be stuck in mediocrity. They (aside from Fulmer) are perfectly happy with Vols going 8-4/7-5 every year.If he couldn't do it in Y1, Y2, or Y3, I'm sure Y4 will be the year.

I agree. I think it helps recruiting but most teams seem to be winning titles with 2nd+ players like Villanova. You can win both ways but every team has had valuable upperclassmen. It would be massive for recruiting though honestly a win win situation.I do. Been a fan for awhile now. He can flat out coach.
Exactly, Villanova is the perfect model for today's version of college basketball. A couple of one and done's every 4 years or so, mixed with high 4 stars (or even low 5 stars that need to develop, what Barnes does very well) that stay 3 or 4 years. Kinda what Barnes is starting to do, right now. Future is bright in basketball for at least, the next 3 or 4 years, probably as long as Barnes staysI agree.
