I would prefer Freeze. But I think Gus is the middle choice between Freeze and Napier. He has the SEC experience we want. Name recognition. Less baggage than Freeze. Kind of a weirdo but we all kinda are too. Creative and explosive offense with the right QB and weapons. We have some weapons already. Maybe Salter would be a star in that offense. Just want good, fun, competitive football. Think he gets us there and then who knows what happens.

An immediate fresh start worked for Rick Barnes here and it was the best hire we've made in decades. I didn't love it at the time though.

I'm rooting for a Vols win tomorrow either way. It would be awesome to shut the door on another teams dreams for a change. Either Pruitt is the right guy or he's not. That's up to somebody else to decide and it should be clear to them at this point. I don't think this game changes it one way or the other.

The players deserve to experience wins like this, and I'll root for that. Especially the seniors who have just been through too many lackluster years here.

I think we're big time underdogs and its a long shot. But I'm still hoping for the best all around.

So MITs "excuse" for being wrong about Gruden was that we were never going to get Gruden, but it put pressure on the admin to try ? Was that it?

Just more fuel for media to use against us and make fun of us for during broadcasts that we know recruits are watching. Probably will make it sometime today during the sec championship game, but NO it don't hurt us and recruits won't ever see it!!

Peyton is having to work our administration, not Hugh Freeze.

It really is his dream job..... unlike our current coach who is just using us for a test drive

The admin, boosters, etc...all need to get on the same page. UT football is on life support. I feel like there is a large portion of the fanbase that legitimately couldn't care less about the game tomorrow and probably couldn't name 3 guys that signed yesterday. This thing is going under so you might as well swing for the fence on the way down.

Watching UT play has become a duty to me rather than something I do for pleasure. I used to watch every game on no matter who was playing but this season I don’t even do that. They’ve taken thrill not only out of watching them but also any cfb in general. If it hadn’t been such a big part of my life up until now I doubt I’d watch us at all. This is why I’m Freeze or bust. I love my alma mater but even I’m being driven away. Freeze can salvage that and bring in even younger fans with the style of offense he runs.

The interesting thing about this is it lines up with another post about “young money” has stepped up to the plate to foot the buyouts, and the young money wants Freeze. Peyton would be considered young money.

Not that this means anything, but Freeze and Archie Manning are known to have a good relationship. Not hard to believe that Peyton could think highly of him too.

I’m right there with you. I am not so much in the Freeze or bust camp though, because I feel like there are a few coaches out there that could do well and you would think would say yes.

I got the inside story from a person who was on the Nike side of that deal. I was blown away by how much they worked to win over UT. It took a looong time.
