It’s already been said if Fulmer won’t get out of the way he’d fall on the same sword most likely.

Ok this is what I’m hearing...
I don’t expect a decision publicly until after Christmas. I do believe he is done. Tennessee will try and fire him with cause but could reach a settlement if Pruitt is willing to move on. Tennessee will probably self impose a reduction on scholarships and a bowl ban. Pruitt has ticked off some university folks as well. Plowman and Manning have had a lot of dialogue along with others. Haslam has had contact with Manning and Plowman the last month but it really picked up the last 10 days and the last 48 hours. This is deeper than on field coaching. There are a lot of upset people. I have heard Fulmer is no longer fighting this whatsoever. I don’t have any clue what his fate is at this time. The focus is Pruitt right now. A lot of details to work through before Pruitt is let go. It could happen tomorrow or it could happen after Christmas. If it happens sooner then it’s because he wanted it to. Things can change in a hurry. I don’t know how soon Pruitt will return from Alabama. I know people will have a million questions but this is all I know and this is basically the opinion of someone I trust. A lot of moving parts here. It’s important you all understand that. Candidates haven’t really even been discussed in detail at this point.

So what were you saying again?

Hes not fighting it because he got his way.

Hubbs and the rest of the media better be beating that drum to fire him. They think it’s quiet now just wait until they trot him back out there. No one is going to care about recruiting, spring practice, assistant coaching searches. No one will give a rat’s backside about a big orange caravan, spring game, media day or any other BS fundraiser with asparagus boy at the helm. Good luck selling those season tickets, programs, and $10/month subscriptions with a dead man walking. Goodbye 2022 instate recruiting. Going to love watching Simpson win a Heisman at Bama with Nolen leading their defense to another national championship. F that.

1. They cant lower the buyout.
2. Fulmer won the power struggle

Cannot be a buyout issue...If you:

1. Buyout the current OC, DC, OL coach and QB coach
2. replace those coaches with new coaches (minimum 3 year deal)
3. See no improvement in year 4
4. fire Pruitt after year 4
5. New coach brings his own staff
6. Pay buyouts for Pruitt and his new staff

You have then paid more in buyout money than you would just buying them all out now.

Not in Phil's mind. He thinks he can win.

This school doesn't want to pay the buyout. Remember the COVID deficit? How about where Boyd and Fulmer wanted continuity within the staff?
His staff has been a revolving door since he's been here. Also there's a good chance we'll buyout some staff this year just to have to buyout the whole staff next year. I don't see any money being saved by waiting a year.

Not gonna get worked up this time.
I'll admit, I got drawn in for a split second and then had to come back down to earth. I don't believe they will fire him and seen nothing to make me feel otherwise. Hubbs talking about it got me drawn in but now he has stopped and now I'm out. Lol

The Dan Harralson piece is interesting. Anyone remember which side he’s on historically? Remember he was calling out Currie back in 2017, so wondering if this is being used to tie Fulmer to Pruitt in a nice neat little bow. We all knows these reporters often put out pieces with just enough info that serve an ulterior motive.

We’re living in 2020 - gotta be careful to take any news piece without scrutiny.

I still stand by what was said earlier

Fulmer had a choice

Either he could stand in the way and be relieved of his duties or he could step aside and still be the AD.

Seems he let ego and pride get in the way of good judgement

Everyone saying “they’re done”.... bish please.

Tennessee has been more a train wreck for going on two decades now. Guess what, we’re all still here.

Guarantee you will be as well. You can swear off buying tickets or spending money on merch, but guess what, others will.

Come next year, we’ll all be tuned in, posting about the team, craving those @Fingers practice reports, seeking out @Atlanta VOL recruiting updates, and taking in a JG-less led team.

Deny it now but you know it’s true.
