it wouldn't hurt my feelings if the liberty bowl got cancelled. if it doesn't, i'll watch...and hope the extra practice is good for the development of the team.

but i wouldn't lose sleep if it was, in fact, last Saturday that we put the 2020 season to bed.

I just want to be good again. I just want Tennessee football to be fun.

Haven’t we been through enough?

We have all the resources to be great. Im not greedy - I just want to be good.

and I also want to ruin Kirbys season every year. Maybe that makes me greedy.
Usually Kirby does that on his own but I’m with you. Is 8-4 too much to ask for???

With our stellar 3rd down coaching and playcalling in the last game we dropped and finished 12th in the conference in 3rd down defense! And dead last in 3rd down offense!

He jUsT nEeDs oNe MoRe YeAr!!!
Yeah. Then we can finish dead last in both categories! Pruitt for the win!

Not that it matters, but I wonder if he got it when he went to visit his grandfather last week. Just curious that he has made it all season and that seems to be the one anomaly in his routine.
I’m with you. Hope he found out before he went.

They're 4 of us that play golf 3 to 4 times a week and have been all year. We're careful and don't get close to each other or shake hands. We each ride in our own golf cart but three weeks ago one of the guys went to a gathering in San Antonio and got the virus down there. He died within two weeks. Everyone is told to stay away from groups or family gatherings but few obey because they think Covid is made up. It's real.

That is one angle, but what if everything started coming up roses, and they actually become very good next season. It doesn't look likely at this point, but a lot can change between now and then. Then, we the fans have pored cold water on our beloved program. Either way, it just would have been nice if this had all happened, say today, instead of 10 days ago; but what do I know? I've only been following recruiting, and UT Football for about 50 years.

There is no doubt that I totally understand the thought process behind it. I am pretty fed up with bad football. I just buy into the possibility that we had some COVID-19 issues that were worse than some of our competition. It was really bad timing for this team - a perfect storm, if you will. Have bad decisions been made? Sure, but who knows if those bad decisions are a part of a larger pattern or simply one-time rock-and-hard place type of decisions.
I've only been following for 38 years, and I was right there with you on the fans and Covid excuse until...Arkansas. Which was a pathetic team with little talent last year, but a first year and first time head coach managed to beat us and a few others. They looked way better than we did. There just isn't any reason for us to think it is going to get better. SC, Auburn, and even Vanderbilt are demanding better coaches. I just hope they all actually work together this time.

The Covid issue is legit. Been working that all day. Reason it's just now coming out has been the wait on the retest of the positive tests to make sure there were no false positives. Then they re-tested everyone again as well. With contact tracing this is effecting 30+ people in the program coaches, players, etc.

Tennessee had real issues in August and early September. Their issues once the season started have been minimal in terms of guys missing practice or games due to contact tracing. They did have a bunch of guys miss time to start fall camp. Then they went out and won their first two games.
