The real head scratcher was the extension. There was NO reason to make that move....completely unnecessary. I’ve always defended Phil but that was an egregious mistake and leads me to believe he’s not a competent AD. The whole program is completely rudderless and now the NCAA is coming to town. It makes one think the goal is to bury us so deep we never recover...cause that’s what’s happening.

merry Christmas, where’s the Tylenol

So insiders here saying he’s safe after saying he’s gone. Insiders on tos saying he’s gone. Some say safe. TB saying he’s gone. Hubbs and the like using “as of right now” language. Nobody knows squat. Just might as well wait until we see a post from Bruce Feldman. I’m still hoping things are coming after Christmas

Who knows? A big part of me thinks that nothing is happening over there right now because of the holidays and the investigation, and some people are interpreting this as good news for Jeremy, and others as bad news. Thus the different narratives.

Yeah no one really knows anything and anyone that does have hard evidence either way wouldn’t be spilling the beans on a message board.

Hot take: I think Freeze is a better candidate with another year of rehab and wins below him. I want him and he is my undoubtedly #1. BUT, I think more realistic for him to come here is:

1. Another year under his belt more distanced from Ole Miss days and showing this year was not a "flash in the pan."
2. Fulmer not there
One more season of Pruitt will set the program back years. We can’t afford it.

At least we know who our QB will be and most can get behind him based on his limited prep and going into the offseason being the #1. That 4 year monkey is off our back. Now develop some safeties and a pass rush....

Oh there is plenty happening, I’m sure. We just don’t know what it is.

I won’t post it an OP thread....... completely concur ——-investigation will turn up minor infractions——— one of our best YOUNG DE’s needs surgery on arm-shoulder ——— FREEZE is “off the record UNTOUCHABLE “

Next year is huge for Jeremy and a plan will be in place if he fails

With writing on said wall, I’d like to see some assistant coaching hires we can get excited about...

No, matts just posted that he will be back unless the investigation provides a reason to fire him.

“Our investigation has now concluded, and we’ve discovered something quite serious, Mr. Fulmer. Your coach only won 3 games in his third year, grossly mismanaged his coaching staff and the roster, and has shown no ability to develop any talent for the future. We recommend immediate termination.”

Where do we go from here?

ooks like horses.
I have 7, they’re a pita, but a way of life I’ve grown up with. Can’t ever bring myself to getting rid of them.

The worst part of all this is that your stewards of the program, including your HOF National Champion former coach, believe the caliber of this program is such that 3-7 in a coach’s third year is enough to seriously consider retaining him.

Also IMO, there is no way to keep Pruitt after next year. Unless you absolutely catch lightning in a bottle it won't happen. We play: Bama, UF, UGA, Ole Miss (yikes), UK, Mizzou, and Pitt. Try to explain how there isn't at least 5 losses here.
So, reading the tea leaves, Pruitt is back next year. What does this NCAA investigation do to assistant hires? Are guys like Bo Davis and/or Tosh Lupoi now off the board because of past NCAA incidences themselves? Is Pruitt handicapped to squeaky clean hires?
