I think Pruitt has given his denial of any involvement in the compliance issue to the internal investigators, the Outside counsel is now set to interview him tomorrow. CPF and others in the AD probably believe Pruitt will hold up under more intense questioning from outside counsel. If Pruitt remains consistent in his past statements during the interview, and doesn't admit to any wrongdoing, he's in the clear. But they can't come out and announce he will be back on the chance that the outside counsel catches Pruitt in a lie, or gets him to admit wrongdoing. At that point he will be let go. So they have to wait until this interview is done to announce. Simple as that.
