Is this your first day with NCAA investigations..... I have never seen them go easier when a school turns themself in.

I don’t think you understand the purpose of hiring outside counsel who specialize in this field. The Glazier Firm gets paid rates up to $500/hr to advise universities on how to achieve the best outcome with the least amount of impact on the school. They are both counsel and advocates for the university, not the NCAA. This is how the Glazier Firm advised Tennessee on how to proceed, so Tennessee followed that counsel.

If you think you can give better advice to universities on how to manage the NCAA, I’d encourage you to market your expert services. I hear it pays very well.

Whew @nicksjuzunk is gonna be all like when he catches up tomorrow night.

Man... I'm just not going to be able to do it. The pace of my life is hectic.

I'm going through alerts and just member searching posts. I'm 170 pages behind, working late tonight and early 7:00 am shift tomorrow. You clowns will be 180 more pages deep by then.

We better absolutely knock this hire out of the park, cause if not TN FOOTBALL will never recover. Not in my lifetime anyways.

I’ve never seen a program get to this point, maybe SMU. If the NCAA makes an example out of us, it’s over.

Today is one of the worse days I’ve ever witnessed in Sports. Period.

Talk about DIRE STRAIGHTS
You must be too young to remember the tragedy at Marshall. That was a bad day in sports

I know nothing about the man, but Matt Campbell's resume looks very Butch-ish from before he coached here. What's different about Campbell?

Edit: I see some have said player development.
He has elevated that program's profile in the Big 12, a far better accomplishment than getting results at a G5 school. He would be a dynamite hire. If they pulled that one off.... we are back.

But it won't happen.

I gave you a like for advocating for Kiffin. But I actually like the idea of Caldwell paired with Steele.

The more I hear Caldwell talk - the more impressed I am with him.
I like him as well I am just worried about if its too big of a job for him right now

This is my first time posting for a while. I've been watching and listening as this whole mess has played out. While I agree that Plowman and Boyd did what they needed to do, I'm concerned about the current timeline for the hires, and it's impact on the program. We're bleeding players left and right. I think that if they were real VFL, they would stay and be part of the solution and not the problem. But I also think they are taking these actions to protect themselves. Our ship is definitely taking on water.

Why was Fulmer given any buyout money. It was his lack of management, oversight, and organizational control that lead us to this disaster. I totally disagree with Plowman on this action. Just shows the character of Fulmer to even ask or accept buyout money. The classless jerk milked us for over $6 million when he was originally fired. Good grief.

As soon as Plowman and Boyd knew that the program had problems, they should have started a back channel search for an AD and putting out feelers for candidate coaches. You can always do it through 3rd parties. Plowman should have reached out to the top, most respected ADs for their recommendations of the best possible AD candidates. The AD hire should have been completed hours following the press conference. The incoming AD hire could already have compiled a list of potential coaches for interviews using their own networks. Texas turned their situation around within days. Auburn's not so much so.

I'm a VFL. Always have been, always will be. While I'm deeply concerned, I still support my Vols. We may be facing some difficult times ahead. If we stick together, we can get our alma mater through this.

My wish for a coach is a combination of good recruiter and developer of players. We see coaches all over the country who don't get the level of talent we have in the program, yet they train and develop their players. It's not unusual for many programs to take 1* players and develop them into viable NFL players. Our next coach needs to know how to teach the game to our players first and foremost. I know I'm sounding idealist, but it's time to find that right coach.

Y’all some chicken littles. These players won 3 games. A good coach could easily make a bowl (I know probably bowl ban but just saying) next year. We have a two QBs with promise on the roster still. Stop crying over transfers, only Kevin Steele as HC could kill the program.
Three games is pretty generous. Vandy only played us to kick a FG and we should’ve lost to SC who fired their coach too. Who knows how we fell @$$ backwards into beating Mizzou.

We lost 2 LB that couldn’t cover a slant.
2 lineman that you really hate to leave.
RB that wasn’t going to be eligible.

We can overcome that. We have good talent depth that with coaching will get this thing squared away
names please.

And if anyone wants to catch me up since 10:00 am yesterday, that would be swell.

I like it. We'll need all the confidence we can muster...I have a feeling, while maybe not very good, these next couple of teams will be very easy to root for with kids like this.🍊🍊🍊

Probably won't be good. Weren't going to be anyway. Also, wouldn't shock me at all that some guys will perform well when given the chance. You can't tell me that a guy like Lawrence shouldn't have been playing. We don't have to discuss the QB decision
