Re: Kiffin’s Twitter flirt and recent follows... I think he genuinely loves college football. Fanbases fawning over him, I also think he’s incredibly immature.

I just think the guy likes to have fun. I like that. Too many folk forget how to have fun as they get older...

We don't know. AV posted a few days ago that he will like the AD and new HC. To me that says we have a very short list. Before White was ever announced I believe they had a good idea of who the next coach will be. AV also said the combo being brought in is to be a winning combo in football. Freeze seems to be untouchable. AV made reference in one post that he has been sitting on things, he also said I can confirm that LK has contacted boosters then turned around and said he won't name names. So who our guy is I dont know, but I don't believe it is either HF or LK.

Most are downgrades from those two. That is what I don’t get. If we hired lower than those 2 it wouldn’t make sense. I don’t think you can let the fanbase get excited about a Freeze or Kiffin and give them Chadwell or even Napier (although good coaches that’s not going to excite many who don’t follow that closely). If Joe Schmoe who couldn’t tell you half the coaches in the conference doesn’t know the name then they aren’t a big name. Doesn’t mean a ton of those aren’t good or even great candidates but if they are relatively unknown it’s not what I’d consider a swinging for the fences type hire. More a triple.

I don’t understand this. Pruitt didn’t recruit any better than Jones but folks are acting like he was Kirby stacking 5*s. The implication that we need to cheat to land what Pruitt did manage speaks to him being a lousy recruiter otherwise. His classes remind me of Dooley with some high profile players but not earth shattering overall.

Give us UKs schedule. Just because we have owned them forever people forget that UK has typically been a step above Vandy, OM, State, SC and has owned Mizzou.

Kiffin was the last time I was excited about UT football. It was the last year that I watched every game (except I didn't finish the McCluster****; I heard he's still scoring touchdowns on us). It was the last time I attended a UT game (Vandy and the infamous Crompton shove).

I am both simultaneously aboard the Lane Trane and prepared to be massively let down by "Ask Alexa" coach.

Mood in Oxford has quickly changed from 0 to defcon 3. Gone from thinking there is no way to absolutely possible.

Freeze would be a fascinating hire. White having connections at Ole Miss, he probably knows the real truth about what happened with Freeze and what kind of coach/person he really is. I feel like Freeze is either off the list completely or he is the main target. I would guess he's not the guy but you never really know.

I believe he would be able to win big here. He’s grown up a lot since 2009. He has admitted to screwing up leaving here. I think he would be here as long as we would have him if he got another opportunity. I’ve talked to two different VFLs that played for him. They love him and he has told them he would come back in a heartbeat. Saban fears (healthy respect) him. Enough said. Money is not an obstacle on hiring the next coach.

For the longest time I would not even consider this....now, with a new administration that seems to be contractually competent, I would be ok with this. Tie this man up with a contract, give him the money to buy a staff and let’s RoLL !!!

I can't. I just think he's a great coach who has won consistently at a place where it's very difficult to win.

No doubt, hard to win a league title there especially, but I do think reaching 8-9 wins consistently in the Big 12 is pretty achievable. Recruiting would be my question mark.

Nebraska ruined its recruiting base by accepting the bid to the big ten.
they used to get kids from Cali and Texas Bc of their direct conference competitors.
no longer playing Texas, ou, okie state & A&M cut out getting those athletes.
The short sightedness of conference realignment cost them dearly. They took the short term dollars & academic credibility that the big ten offered and sacrificed being able to field winning football teams to do so.
Frost is a very good coach. His love for the school made him make a decision with his heart.
Want to hear something crazy, he had better talent at UCF than he has ever had at Nebraska.
Two of my friends are on the football s&c staff there and are simply trying to make the best of the situation.
Nebraska won’t ever be the Tom Osbourne Nebraska ever again.

Makes me wonder if White knows Frost is a winner and just chose a bad situation with his heart. Maybe White knows he would win big at a place like Tennessee, where he can get that elite talent to succeed? His name hasn’t been thrown around any.
