Whittingham is like Malzahn with a longer tenure as a head coach. 8-4 guy, 67% win rate. His bowl game record is kinda wild, though. 11-3. Through 2017 he was 11-1!

Could be to get his name in the HC buzz? I know the NFL came for him, but he made it clear he didn’t want to leave Clemson to be an assistant.

He’s got pretty good buzz around him as it is, so I think there is some legit interest from Tennessee. And I think he views Tennessee as a place he could go some special things thanks to some people around him.

Here's the thing, they decided to put out the supposed criteria we're looking for in our next HC, so if they fail to meet it, they have no one but themselves to blame if fans are disappointed.
