I personally don’t like Franklin. As a UT fan I hate Vandy and the big10 and Franklin is both of those. But he would by far be the best football coach we’ve had since kiffin

The problem with Franklin has not one single damn thing to do with his coaching ability.

I understand that Franklin was at Vandy. But 17 of his 24 wins were Elon, UConn, Ole Miss (3), UK (3), Army, Wake Forest (3), Presbyterian, UMass (2), Austin Peay, and UAB. He also beat us twice so 19 of 24. UT, Ole Miss, UK, and Wake Forest were awful for most of those three years.

Matt Campbell plays Iowa every year out of conference, and Iowa State is at least behind OU, Texas, OSU, Baylor, West Virginia, and probably TCU in terms of prestige and/or access to talent. They should be fighting KSU, Kansas, and Texas Tech for that lower tier. Campbell is 4-7 overall against OU and Texas and has beaten 9 top 25 teams with 3 of them being top 6.

Also vandy is clearly by far the worst job in the SEC which is obviously stronger than the big 12 while Iowa state isn’t the worst job in it. I think comparing vandy to Iowa state is fair but winning at vandy is slightly harder

The only knock on Campbell that I can see, is just like he wins big games he's not supposed to win ... he drops games to teams he should beat.
I don't know if he's not getting them ready to play for lesser games, if the team plays down to the level of the competition, or what.
I'd love the hire tho.

None of the Vandy stuff came out until after he was at Penn St... It wouldn't have shown up in vetting because court documents are sealed. After he was already hired there was no point in them reopening that can of worms.
