Putting aside character issues, James Franklin would objectively be the most accomplished coach Tennessee has hired since Majors and it’s not even close. It would be an earthquake hire among the college football landscape and the media that covers it. You simply don’t get coaches hopping from one blue blood to another. Would be nice to be on the right side of one of those stories for once. (Even though I’d still rather have Campbell)
 
If you all would allow me, I think I can summarize our collective opinion on Franklin:

We think he's a good to great coach and excellent recruiter. What he did with Vanderbilt was incredible. We have some questions about his character. From an on field standpoint we would be very optimistic. From a character standpoint he would have to earn our trust.
