If that is the case, I think something has to leak soon. I know that DW has it tightened up really tight, but stuff will still trickle out. The thing is there has been so much misdirection, that a lot of people won't believe the legitimate leaks either.Someone on VQ who seems respected just said tomorrow at noon
Let’s have some fun amongst the lull. If you’re DW and have to sell an underwhelming hire to the fan base, what’s your opening line?
Mine would be.
Come and listen to my story about a man named (fill in name)
A poor Volunteer, we raised from near dead,
We found him one day, he was shootin some pool,
And I said to Donde, we found us a fool
Kiffin wouldn’t have a zero post count.what if Kiffin is @Neyland Rising!!!
Penn State had already hired him before a lot came out. It wasn’t until he was testifying in October 2014 that he admitted he lied to the football team. Common sense here: football players do something really bad. Pics and videos are taken and shared - team members know about it and tell him. Are you really telling me (this is what he testified to) that he didn’t look at the pics or videos to see how bad it was? Once again, he was already at Penn State when most of the details became public. He tells his team that he’s seen the pics/videos and then in October testifies that he never really saw the stuff - that he lied to the team - he just wanted the team to understand how bad this was - but he didn’t look at the videos. By October and the trial, you knew those players were going to prison. He called this gal while she was getting medical help. One of the players testified that Franklin told him to delete the stuff from his phone. Text messages from the girl’s phone and Franklin’s phone were missing. Nothing proven but it boggles to think he didn’t get and see details.Question to the group:
Given the times in which we live, and given the scandal that happened at Penn St before he got there, why do y'all think James Franklin faced no serious opposition when Penn St offered him the job, or faced no serious calls for his firing/resignation when he got dragged into that rape trial?
He seemingly had a benefit of the doubt that was not afforded to others who have been caught up in similar situations related to sex crimes.
@Neyland Rising is my hero and I don't even know if I've ever seen one of his posts.
Correct. But that hasn't stopped the media from crucifying, or attempting to crucify, others who in a similar position (i.e., mentioned in connection with something but never charged or found guilty). The Me Too movement is riddled with incidents like that.Bc it was investigated and determined he did no wrong.
