The way I see it, AV implied the hire could be leaked through Low. He didn't say to follow Low's hot takes on who it will be.

I think it's safe to say that when AV said it was wrapped up, it clearly wasn't wrapped up. Or it unwrapped itself.

Also, I wouldn't give him a hard time if the hire sucks. As much as hiring a trash can sucks for the average fan, imagine watching the thousands of dollars you donate to the university every year be used to hire a trash can. That's worse, for sure.
