BoomUnderstandably, I should clarify somethings.
Scott Frost was at UCF for two seasons and his recruiting classes were not significantly better than Heupel's, Heupel's were better, in fact. The year before Frost the average was .8355. No, he's not setting the recruiting world on fire, but he's also in the same yard with Miami, Florida, Florida State, and FIU. Its a crowded yard. BUT, he does more with less...

As has been noted, his offenses have been top 6 nationally all three years since he became HC at UCF and 14th nationally while OC at Mizzou. He went 22-4 his first two years (with 4 classes of essentially the same caliber of players, Frost's classes weren't carrying those teams) and then 6-4 in a year where the state of florida was a covid hot spot. when they played tulane this year several of their starters were out.
If he's the guy, he's one very good DC hire away from being potentially very good in the SEC. His offenses will excel, and he has HC experience. He's the quintessential up-and-comer future star. I understand the frustration--i really do-- but 8-4 should be the floor the way the schedule is set up, especially if we're hanging up 450 yards a game.
i urge you to give him a chance if he's the guy. he's walking into a dumpster fire with sanctions looming and, like DW, is apparently willing to take it on. I think this could end up pretty good.
I had Ms. Elarbee for a class in high school. You must have went to Central. I remember Glen was at MTSU at the time and she made a negative comment about my Tennessee shirt...so I assumed that family hated Tennessee.I went to high school with Elarbee in Carrollton, GA. His mom was a teacher at our high school and later I ended up working with his Dad at Delta.
Yep. Absolutely nothing about this hire or this coaching search is good.Already, some of you are talking yourselves into Heupel being a great hire just like you did with Pruitt.
We could have hired a crappy AD and he could have made the same hire but for less money.
Hilarious.

No, but it could have been worse. They could be marching sonny or Jeff fisher out there. I’m not gonna dog this hire. But I am intrigued to see what he can do with salter/Bailey Hyatt etc.Already, some of you are talking yourselves into Heupel being a great hire just like you did with Pruitt.

Hasn’t come from ucf side though has it? I’m still hoping beyond hope that White deals in disinformationIt has come from numerous outlets at this point. Ryan Callahan just pretty much confirmed it as well.
"I'm not prepared to say that UCF coach Josh Heupel will be hired as Tennessee's next football coach, but I feel pretty confident in saying he is the leading candidate for the job, based on everything I've heard so far tonight. New Tennessee AD Danny White has apparently had smoke screens in some of his searches in the past, so I guess we can't rule out anything just yet. But I think this is legitimate, and right now everything is trending toward Heupel being the hire."

Well???Get behind this program...everyone. Stop bickering. Stop second guessing.
We have a bad ass AD...I mean one of the most impressive guys I have EVER been around. He is getting this right I promise you that.
And another thing...this stuff about whales and authority to offer this and that to two whales is BS. DW has been given a damn centurion card to hire whoever he wishes at whatever cost he sees fit....i have said it 100 times but some folks just can’t understand. Money is not and will not be an issue moving forward with this program.
I get it, but how much stock are we putting into this past bowl season? Or any bowl game? Florida got demolished by OU, doesn’t mean OU was better all season. Maybe it means Florida didn’t feel like showing up . Maybe UCF didn’t feel like showing up against BYU.UCF got wrecked by the only good team they played. They put up alot of points playing NOBODY.
