Has AtlantaVol even said anything since the Heupel news broke

What's there to say that's not already obvious? We whiffed and whiffed and had to go make a safe hire

I'm all seriousness, this dude might actually take the talent we have on offense and compete with literally everyone we play next season. Might not win against teams like bama but... This is an offense driven game now and hypel does have a chance to compete in all games if his offense is as good as advertised. Just something to think about. Not saying it will happen, but if his offense is as good as advertised it's a real possibility that we win more games than we should next year just by offense alone.

I know you’re upset. Heupel wasn’t who we wanted but he’s a much better HC than the last few coaches we’ve had. No reason he can’t beat Pitt, Mizzou and UK this fall. Those aren’t automatic losses. And he’s already beaten Kiffin a couple times, that’s a toss up game as well.

Honestly, I'm not upset at all. My apathy has set in 100%. I realize we could beat one of the teams I've listed but I also realize we could lose to one that I've listed as a win. I really think that 5-7 is a realistic number. I'm not even upset at the hire. It is what it is. Maybe he was the best we could do. Nothing I can do about it. I certainly hope he doesn't fail, hoping otherwise would be stupid. I just have zero confidence that he will get it done here.

Why do you hate the hire so much? I thought you’d like Heupel. Top 5 offenses, develops QB’s very well. Obviously he needs a good dc and some good recruiters on staff but he’s clearly better than Pruitt. What’s the problem other than the obvious we thought we were getting a whale?

Why? Because Barnes has lost a few games this year? Lol everyone is acting like we win a natty every year in basketball.

Took smart 8 years to get where Barnes got us in 3.

I like Barnes and he's good for the Program. Texas was tired of not getting over the hump and wanted a change. Shaka is looking like he has changed that program. Also it looks like what we are getting what Texas fans thought Barnes was. A good coach, but not someone that will ever win anything big. Let's just hope we aren't getting what UCF thinks that Heupel is.

Not excited about the hire at all, but willing to give him a shot -- what choice do we have?

I'll be very curious about the staff he puts together. That will be the difference in whether he succeeds here or whether we are looking for a new coach in 3 years.

I'm excited that our players are excited. We hear UCF and think "up and coming program." I wonder if they hear UCF and they think "hottest program the last couple of years that plays a fast, fun brand of football."

We always say "a good QB" makes up for a lot. Well this guy has a proven record of developing them. Even if we have a lack of talent and depth the next couple years, if he gets one of Bailey, Salter or Hooker ready to play to their potential, who knows. We could have a surprise 8 win season

He’ll have all 3 ready when the opportunity arises. Could see Maurer hanging around.

Heupel going to make him a star, of course Pruitt had the kid at RB. He can be a stud at TE, lineup out wide when necessary. All the tools are there for a dominant player. He and Wideman should thrive under Heupel.

I think Ansley has been looking to get out for a while now. Hope that means we don’t have to pay his buyout.

Why would be paying a buyout for him leaving? Your hopes have been realized.

How has Shaka Smart "changed Texas"? His best finish is tied for 3rd and he's finished with a winning conference record ONCE...his first year.
