Bingo. Lots of proof it isn't a bad thing.
College S&C programs are absolutely built to add good weight. Not take 360+ lb behemoths and have them shed weight (then there's the added problem of, "did those guys succeed in HS just because they overpowered/outsized/developed sooner than other HS kids?").
Seriously, it's ridiculous how many people are freaking out about the size of him and our linemen, it's clear they're going to bulk him up and that they like his athleticism and can see his frame filling out to support the extra weight. It happens all the time. It may or may not workout, but give the kid/staff a chance before you write him off or put him as TE.
Let's look at some higher rated recruits that were underweight coming out of HS and had great success/accolades over the past few years. There are also plenty of other people not listed here that become multi-year starters at their respected schools. Additionally, this is only higher ranked recruits (most four stars or better) and it's likely a good assumption that undersized guys are likely lower rated (3 stars) coming out of HS because of they're seen as a project due to size, so I'm sure there are plenty of other examples.
