Yeah I know it won't happen, but at the same time I'd love if our AD was just straight-up honest with the search when asked.

"Oh we spoke to quite a few coaches, including XYZ. We started talking money with -BIG FISH- and couldn't get on the same page, so we moved our focus to our next target XYZ. Keep in mind that all of the targets were given similar interviews and vetting, so at no point were we only focused on one candidate."

I’ll just tell you I understand that point, but for lots of reasons that’s a bad idea. The first is it makes us look bad—and unprofessional. The second is a lot of these coaches are represented by one agency and pissing off the intermediaries is a good way to get that agency to steer coaches away from us (now and in the future). Third, the school that that perspective coach is at could fire that coach—you would say so what? Well, that could impact relationships and scheduling and other financials. In the professional job world it’s a no-no. It’s why companies don’t disclose whom is in the running for jobs—not something that is done. I’ve applied for jobs in companies and known that my friends have been in the running but management doesn’t disclose that—not about feelings it’s just how good companies run.

Yeah, did you hear of anything about PJ Fleck during the search? He was a name I thought would be in negotiable range...but not sure if we really went after him.

IDK about Fleck. I'm sure he would have been in negotiable range if there had been mutual interest. Same for a lot of other guys that UT didn't push for. I do think it was a very contained search.

If Franklin had wanted the job and had been our go-to, they would have negotiated to terms. There are many ways to structure a deal to give people what they want when they're in a negotiable range. Neither party shuts the door on a deal they really want to make when they're near the ballpark.
yep. Franklin wasn't the "don't take no" guy. and that's fine.

not against Sec defenses. Plus we will be giving up 50 quite often IMO. As bad as the offense was last year, the defense was even worse in pass coverage. Heupel’s style of offenses also leave the defenses on the field more often than usual.

We’ve been giving up points Bc we had an incompetent QB and head coach.
we never converted 3rd downs.
Our defense wasn’t great, but it also wasn’t as bad as the scores made it look. They were on the field every game Bc of turnovers and the incompetent offense.
I PROMISE you this offense will not be 29% on 3rd down conversions.

IDT my opinion is valued more than anybody else's-- and far less than some-- but ask a direct question and I'll answer it. I don't opine on many issues, and I generally take a temperate position unless I have facts supporting a stronger position.

Whether you believe it or not, I do think your opinion and/or information is valued more than a vast majority of this board. I know I pay attention to it. While the question or suggestion could have been asked in a more gentle way, I think the gist of it was reasonable.

I will say this as well, I think CJH being so introverted is a great thing for a HC here at UT right now.

I don't want someone being emotional in press conferences, or being snippy with our idiotic local media. I want someone that focuses on the on-field product, not trash cans, not stupid ass slogans, and not a damn thing anyone on social media is saying.

Look...my mom left me some money and it is in a Edward Jones account which I hope to leave untouched till retirement. I just don't want this chaos to end up ruining me. I am a cautious non-greedy person and I just want to be left out of this crap.

I don't understand the stock market, I am a poor guy and always have been, all I know is that the bulk of my money is invested in ten mutual funds, and besides that I have about $2,500 worth of stock in Emerson electronics and Home Depot which have both done really well since June.

I don't want the market to crash over these idiots...that is my concern.
With the influx of new investors, the market was actually doing well until the brokerages stepped in and began illegally regulating public buying.
The billionaires who have rigged the system are the ones who are negatively effecting the market.

Hubbs is on VQ saying this will get ugly. Why? Tee is unemployed. He has no contract with the university. Why does this have to be ugly? Just go get another job. What is the deal?
Sounds like he is having a hard time finding something else. He also thinks he is worth more than what he is in market.
