I think how she handled it will actually help us avoid serious punishment by the ncaa beyond whatever we self impose. It may have hurt us a little in the short term with the coaching search but I think we ended up with a pretty good coach anyway. It also will help us in ways we may never truly know by allowing us to completely clean house in the athletic department and get some competent people in there. Imo that will have a lasting positive impact that far outweighs any of the negatives resulting from how she handled that. Time will tell though I guess. They suck worse than Donde. I’m actually not even mad at her. She doesn’t know how it works.weird how you would assume I like Fulmer.
All that is certainly the hope...I agree it was needed. Hate it took this to even consider it.I think how she handled it will actually help us avoid serious punishment by the ncaa beyond whatever we self impose. This isn’t Kansas of old. Their team is not nearly as good as it normally is. Especially the offenseI'mma be honest. I'm happy with the way we're playing... hitting shots, playing great defense and finishing possessions with a rebound. But my biggest takeaway from this game so far is that Kansas kinda looks like ass. They don't look very talented, and their effort is awful.
Maybe I'm not giving our guys enough credit. We play oppressive defense that some teams - particularly teams that aren't hitting from outside - just don't want to face for 40 minutes. And that can suck the energy out of a team. But I expect a "blue blood" to be more of a challenge than this.
I think it's been pretty clear that the athletic department has been in a downward spiral since dickey left. Hopefully this fresh start will get us back on track.A lot of folks think and believe it is about the coaches, and rightly so. But, to your point, why not start the rebuild a step above at the AD level? I believe that is what Donde did, right or wrong.
The biggest takeaway is that we can play offense. Just need to do it more consistently..I'mma be honest. He said get ready for one of The best staffs in the country. Lord I hope so. Ready to start kicking Azz and taking names. He’s making it really hard for someone that’s taking a wait and see approach. I really want to buy in, but Dooley and Butch broke me. I never truly bought in for Pruitt.
If he brings in a renowned DC, I’ll be ecstatic.
