I am for sure wrong. But I am starting to lean that we are going to get a worse DC candidate. But I’m sure most will talk themselves into him no matter what.

I would humbly suggest that we really don't know what the search philosophy has been. All of this complaining about a diversity hire is mostly people on this board and not any kind of factual information. I know what LA said about it and people have taken that and run with it. I realize all the reported offers have been minorities, but none of us actually know who was interviewed, offered or pursued. At the end of the day, if we get a good DC, that is all that matters. We won't know how good a hire it was until we play football games. There will be plenty who will melt down, regardless of who it is. Let's just see who it is. That's all I'm saying.

When all that’s supposedly been ask (4-5 ) and said no are all minorities and Franklin and Elliot were reported the top 2 coach targets
It’s pretty easy to assume it’s true.

And note that I said “supposedly “ and “reported “. So maybe the info is wrong, but if not I think the plan is clear.

Hubb didn’t say it directly but he made the comment that you can look at the list of names that have been mentioned and make your own conclusions aka yes it’s true but I won’t say it since it’s controversial. Doug M said it this morning per someone here too. It’s beyond obvious and basically we are being told “I want an opportunity just not your opportunity” then will hear about how there are no opportunities

Plant the "Opportunity is NowHere" seed and watch it grow.

Do you think it's unfair?
If you do think it's unfair, would you be questioning why haven't we been talking to any minority candidates if all the coaches we have talked to had been white?

When you think minority hire do you think of someone who doesn't deserve the position they just acquired?

Lastly have any of the minority candidates that we've allegedly talked to not been qualified?

Sucks. Why isn’t he a DC currently?

No idea. But you don’t suck as a coach and forget how to coach when you were just up for the Broyles award.

Because he was a disaster last time around. Not much better since then. Currently an analyst at Miami. We can do much better.

He beat Florida. He got us seven or eight three and outs which tired them out and allowed our offense to scorch them in the second half. Who was the last DC to beat florida? I wouldn’t say he was a disaster. Butch was a disaster and hurt his career.

Just hire the best candidate regardless of skin color. Pretty simple.

And if that’s the case, why wouldn’t Shoop just leave and go get another job since he was so elite? And how come he hasn’t had another DC job since Miss St? Surely other HCs can see that Butch was meddling and he only had 1 bad season at Miss St.

I have just received "INSIDE" information from my source and this is very important.....I'm serious here. UT will hire a DC. The time and date of the announcement has yet to be determined but we will have a DC in the future !!!! So everyone can finally take a deep breath and relax. I'm going back to the corner with my coloring books and Crayons now and hopefully get back to some semblance of normal for a change. SKITTLES ANYONE ? They've been giving me extra for some reason.

I don’t have the time but I have plenty of stories and people who actually witnessed practices. Shoop is a good coach. Don’t care what internet warriors want to believe in their heads. Obviously not my top choice, but I would take him over some names mentioned.

If he’s so good why is he just an analyst currently? After failing at UT he failed at Miss state as a DC, ended up the Safeties coach at Michigan for a year before losing that job and now an analyst at Miami. If we can’t do better than that we’re in serious trouble.

Last I checked, Todd Orlando is white, so there are clearly holes in the whole we are dead set on making a DC minority hire narrative. I think people are putting an unnecessary racial spin on this story and none of us know what's actually going on here.
