Callahan saying Lance Dixon OLB one to watch From Portal. Could be someone that follows Banks as he recruited him to PSU. Michigan currently the favorite in crystal ball as he is from there but banks is basically royalty in Detroit. We could use an OLb

Sounds like Banks is a great recruiter especially in MI. Here’s a post from someone this morning on VQ that gives me a good feeling about his recruiting...

I received a text yesterday from a long time friend in Michigan and DIEHARD Michigan State fan . He said we will love Banks and that he is glad to get him out of Big Ten. Says he is underrated coach but best recruiter on PSU staff. Said Banks has gotten more stud kids from state of Michigan than Sparty and UM have combined. Says he gets whoever he wants out of Detroit . My friend rarely gives kudos but he really likes this hire for Vols

I was told the exact same thing from a friend of mine yesterday. He is an Ohio St fan but grew up in the Detroit area.

I know some are underwhelmed by Heupel and the staff so far, especially after what we’ve endured for the past 15 years. However, I’m choosing to be optimistic though because Heupel has actually proven things as a HC that none of the last three coaches have (and I know this isn’t new information).

Dooley really had neither success as a HC or a coordinator/had success on a particular side of the ball like Heupel’s offense

Butch had success as an HC at Cincy, but not as much success on a particular side of the ball (averaged about 10 points a game less at Cincy than Heupel did at UCF).

Pruitt had great success as a coordinator, but no success as a HC.

All of this is to say that optimistic about what is in store for this team and think we will be enjoying more success in the near future than we’ve had in a while.

Stand up triple, IMO.

With the current situation, I really don't know how they could have done any better. Banks is legit and willing to take on a total rebuild during sanctions.

If DW, Donde and Randy get them through the sanctions well - they deserve a huge debt of gratitude from the fan base for what they pulled off. In my book, they already deserve our appreciation. Good leadership on display, including the plumbing of leaks.

I would like Him to bring Joe Lorig from Penn St with him to coach OLBs and Special Teams. One of the best special teams coaches in country. Has a Heupel connection from Utah St days. Guy puts out too special teams units everywhere he goes. Coached at Memphis when Jake Elliot was kicker.

Life use to be fun, but we now live in a country where everyone has to find something to complain about. This is not political. We live in the most prosperous country in the world, yet no one seems to be happy or content. People today are trying to find meaning by tearing others down. The true path to joy and happiness is to help others and lift each other up. I know not everyone on here is a Vol fan, there are trolls. But if you are a Vol fan it is time to stop tearing each other down and start lifting each other up.

This current administration, current coaches, and current players are not the source of this program’s problems. Hopefully they can be the catalyst to a turn around and a return to prominence in college football. They need our support, they need us to give our all for Tennessee today. So I say Go Vols and Go Volnation!!!
