That’s a good take. I definitely think our QBs are going to look more “QBish” with the new HC and QB coach taking care of them. Shrout would of done well in this Offense.
All of them would have looked better without the HC looking for his hook...save JG who already had that luxury afforded to him

Every coaching staff says it will build its offense around the roster. Every one.

The fact of the matter is Golesh said verbatim today that they prefer a running QB. So I would bet on Hooker or Salter being Day 1 starter.

Bailey, in his short time playing, also didn't seem to have the arm strength necessary to run an offense like this.

I'm not ruling him out, but like I said, I don't think he's the favorite.

Except he literally doesn't say that at all...

Only 7% of Texas' power comes from wind turbines. Natural gas/coal plants are more to blame because of zero cold weather prep for natural gas supply lines, so they're freezing up. Texas wants to have their own power grid so they can avoid federal regulations. This is one result of that. Facts be damned when you can make a meme though.

It's never about the facts. The folks presiding over that cluster are spinning things already to push whatever bs is going to line their pockets. The folks who suffer are those who don't have money in the game and who are only relying on this stuff to survive.

Arm strength not in his top 3. I agree. Overrated compared to accuracy and decision-making, which affect 100% of throws.
Exactly. I mean I hate to use Manning as an example but dudes Arm Strength at the end of his career was awful. Especially since he had trouble gripping the ball as well. However, all his throws were on time and where they needed to be. Which is all that matters.

So weird how fans just pick "the next QB" I mean despite how absolutely terrible Chaney was while here and how pathetic last season was nothing Bailey did makes me think he's not "got it"

Selfishly I'd love to RS Bailey/Salter and Hooker be the guy with Maurer as his backup. Just so going into 22 we'd have Bailey/Salter battling it out to be the guy with both having at least 2 years left. Not sure who the guy ends up being, but I think Harrison Bailey suddenly getting passed over is crazy talk.
My main concern with him was taking too many hits, sacks, and fumbles. But JG and I'm sure many freshman have similar issues. His accuracy was elite.

Just wonder if this staff will favor a quick twitch kind of passer. Guess we'll see...they certainly have a great pick of the litter. Best QB room since...idk when.

Eh. There were times Bailey looked great. But in his limited play, he had the ball stripped multiple times because he either didn't see or feel the pressure or was unable to release the ball quick enough. I'm not too worried about that though. A good coach can fix those issues and teach him when to make a quick pass, when to throw away, and when to cut losses and pull the ball in.

Hoping the quick decision making helps...instead of holding onto the ball forever in the old offense. Love the idea of dictating the tempo

Also for everyone betting on Hooker being the starter..... the VT Boards weren’t to high on his QB skills. Said he had a tough time making reads and decisions.
That's what I thought was said. So he's a running QB with some experience therefore he will start. From the presser it sounded like the one who can make the reads the fastest will start even though they do prefer a QB to be able to run.

I think a lot of those decisions were because of our terrible route running (under Coach T) I mean half the time our guys were just covered up. Bailey would think he had more time then he did.

Honestly it was like our OL at the end of the season just gave up.

HB can run when he has to. I think he actually had one of our longest rushes to me game. Ran for almost 50 yards.

Could also see the OL play dictating who the starter ends up being. If Bailey & Hooker are close by game 1, but the OL hasn't given the staff confidence that they can pass protect well they may go with Hooker for his mobility.

And make no mistake about it, Hooker is our best mobile threat right now. Salter could be great too, but Hooker has over 1k rushing yards in the P5 so we know he's more than capable. Other guys are based on HS tape or speculation.
