I was just given a IQ test and the results said I had the IQ of a Earthworm and the brain activity of a Termite.......so I got that going for me!!!!
So you're smarter than the average FF poster.

They knew they didn't need to draft our players because they could get them as a UFA and get a bargain. They were talented but underdeveloped.

Yeah, I'm not saying WM sent polished NFL studs in while here. Obviously based on the fact we had zero secondary guys get drafted that's obviously not the case. But when guys he recruited and developed are playing in the NFL now, even if they weren't drafted they -are- in the league and he has to get some credit for that at least with the 2 mentioned names.

WM is a good coach, I'd argue his time here was as good as any other secondary guy we've had in the last decade...and I have team stats as well as individual player production to help in that argument. I'll also settle for guys in position with their head not turned over guys getting torched which happened far too often in the Pruitt era.

My only hang-up is our DL coach was hired prior to our DC and Willie is coming from Heupel's former team...has Banks been allowed to hire his guys and did he want both of these guys or is he not getting a say in the matter?

The more logical inference is that Banks came on board because RG was in place.

Our 11-month-old son started running a fever this afternoon and is in the ER now with a 103.1 temperature. Some of you may recall me asking for prayers for my niece late last year due to MIS-C, a secondary condition to COVID-19. We are almost positive he was infected with COVID-19 a few weeks back. There was an outbreak at his school, and my wife and I contracted it. I know we have prayer warriors here and I would appreciate them at this time.

So at some point we have had 29 of our players enter the transfer portal!? I truly had no idea it was this many... I know a few are coming back, a few don't matter, and a few won't move the needle... but dang. Is it confirmed that Pope and Crouch are back, and are there a few more coming back? I know the staff was just assembled, but they better be looking into the portal for a few pickups... LB, TE, Oline....

Crouch is still in the portal, along with Toot. Pope withdrew his name.

Biggest needs IMO are CB, ILB, and a LT.

Right, and you can't blame the kids for feeling this way. It's two pronged:

1) None of these guys remember Tennessee being anything other than mediocre. So when they put in the work but we still suck, they accept it for what it is. "It's not my fault, it's the program."

2) I'm sure it's very tough to give your all when you know your coach is doing a bad job and is very likely to be fired.
I'm sorry...I don't get that. I guess it just because I am so competitive. I can't stand getting beat by the guy across from me no matter who is on my team. Even when I knew the guy across from me was better, I wanted to make him remember and hate playing against me.

That is why I have said the things I have in the past about so many guys on our teams being soft quitters.

If we had teams full of guys like JJ..guys that are not as physically talented but full of pure dogged determination..we would not have the disaster of a program that we do.

No matter who is the coach is, they will have their work cut out for them rooting that cancer out of the bones and guts of the program.

We adopted my daughter who was 9.5 months old, when I was almost 40. She is 16 now and it was very challenging just keeping up with her. I would not trade it for anything. It's been a helluva ride.

Both of my kids are adopted. Had them each since they were 2 days old. My son looks like me with my wifeā€™s eyes. My daughter looks like my wife with my eyes.
People canā€™t believe that they are adopted. We have been blessed with them for sure. Adoption was much better than the multitude of failed fertility attempts.

Kinda wish the portal would classify which guys are scholarship guys and which aren't.

We got 28 in the portal right now, 3 are returning.

Of the other 25 at least 5 weren't on scholarship that I can verify. Of the remaining 20 I think 6 or so were grad transfers. It's a big number either way but appears to be 12-15 scholarship guys, the question will be how many of those do we get back (and when)? I'll be curious to see how CJH handles the extra scholarships we'll have once the dust settles. We'll be low to mid 70s by the time Spring semester ends, guessing transfers or walk-ons is the only way to use 'em as the 25 cap won't allow us to make it up quickly in a signing class.

Satellite internet connections are high speed (bandwidth) but also high latency (ping). Cable internet connections are high speed(bandwidth) but low latency (ping).

Internet companies have confused everyone by referring to everything as "speed". When they talk about speed, they are really talking about bandwidth.

Bandwidth is how much data I am allowed to transmit per second on their network. Latency is the actual time it takes that data to get from point A to point B. The reason those aren't the same thing is because I can send more and more data in parallel and the bandwidth will increase, but the latency stays the same.

My internet bill is $45/month for 15 MB/s. That is a "slow" internet connection. But I play video games just fine, because my latency is low, and gaming transmits such a small amount of data I never run up against my bandwidth limit.

Sorry for the drawn out answer. Tldr version: Your bandwidth (MB/s) doesn't really matter in online gaming. You can buy as much bandwidth as you want. If you have high latency, you are going to have lag issues in gaming because the data just isn't being transmitted fast enough. And all satellite internets as of now have high latency. I'm honestly not sure if Elon's system is supposed to improve that or not.
It is. Traditional satellite internet is served from geosynchronous orbit, around 35,786 km out. Starlink is in low earth orbit (LEO) at about 550 km. Much shorter distance = lower latency.
