Not sure how stuff has progressed, but I know they were planning on converting that warehouse near the soccer and softball stadium into an indoor track facility. That site is the only other place "on campus" (it really isn't) that you could build a top-notch stadium.

Unless you demolished the softball stadium, and moved the softball team to Lindsey Nelson. But I also know that a lot of people wouldn't be too happy about baseball getting a multi-million dollar stadium while softball gets scraps.

Folks- I am and have never been against a quality ballpark on campus. Would love to see it. However, for 15-20 years they have not been able to figure out how/where, or, are not willing to do it in the existing footprint of the campus. I'm sure they would be willing to listen to your suggestions. lol. They already have Voltello telling them what he wants. But even keeping him is not enough reason to significantly modify the long range plan of campus development if it messes up the primary purpose of being an elite school first.

As for me, I'll be thrilled to go to a quality minor league park within a mile of the campus in downtown until they do. Use LNS for practice, mid-week games, camps, etc.
You are and have never been against it? At the same time? They have shrinks for that 😂

He was doing color for them in 98, became main play by play in 99. "In 1996, Bud Adams, the owner of the National Football League’s Houston Oilers announced he would move his team to Nashville. That same year, while the team was in still in Houston, Keith began hosting a pre-game show for Tennessee stations that carried the Oilers games. He served as the network’s scoreboard host in 1997 before moving into the booth as color analyst in 1998. In 1999, Keith took over the play-by-play duties."

Yea, I read that. Don’t know what he was promised, but he wasn’t in his current role until 1999. There was a lot of chatter that he was interested in the UT job when Ward left. Keith is a play by play guy, so it’s odd that he started as an analyst.

I had to look it up, but he started with the Titans around the same time, specifically in 1999. Because of Ward’s plans, I assume plans were being prepared in late 1998 to officially make the hire.

Don’t know how much Keith makes or how much he would have made at UT, but there was a lot of discussion that he was very much interested in the UT job, if offered. Of course, the status of the program probably helped at time too.
All this time we thought it was the Fulmer curse.
