If the transfer rules aren't changed at some point and if a NIL becomes common place then what we know now as being abandoned by one player for a rival could become being abandoned for a paycheck. I'm not saying it will but I am saying it could in time, no one knows how things will change for sure, good or bad................back to my corner now, I've got new Crayons ya know.
Out of the P5 markets, I feel we are in a really good position. We have as much or more population/market dollars as anyone in the SEC. The way I see it is look at cities with higher populations and limited/no professional teams in the big 3 sports. It's a rare "sweet spot" zone.
That said, nationally speaking, the biiiig winners could be Texas and OSU. Austin is absolutely exploding. I believe over 1 million people now with no pro (football, basketball, baseball) sports teams. Columbus has 800k or so iirc.
Compare our situation to Athens, Tuscaloosa, Gainesville. We have a good spot.
By MSA (metropolitan statistical area) population:
Knoxville - 869k
Gainesville - 329k
Tuscaloosa -252k
Athens - 213k
How could he have been a hero? Kept us from losing by double digits in a couple games? What makes you think Tennessee fans are interested in logical choices for someone that is not a Vol. Apparently, based on his actions since taking the money to come here, he was never a Vol. He could have been a hero. Now he is a zero. I don't care what is best for anyone that does not wear orange.
And just like that the Diamond Vols leave them in the dust. Great team - emphasis "team".
Voltello gonna get paid in large quantities of BO dollars this offseason. Now, about the ballpark...
UT has plenty of money. And plenty of buckets to carry it in.
