I don’t have any nice solutions. But the problem is absolutely too many humans. As a species, we are definitely headed towards the future seen in many science fiction books where the human race will end if we don’t find other habitable planets.

Large scale conventional warfare, plagues, pandemics, famine, etc. have limited human population in the past. We now may be too smart for our own good, and yet not smart enough…

And yet we won't let pandemics do their thing..and Alaska is not "being destroyed" for gas.

I never understood the rain forest issue. We spend so much money trying to clean or at least appear to try to help the environment we could fix that part easily. Give the few thousand people cutting it down a salary or what they need to live on and have them protect the Forest for a living.
