WATCH: LSU's Mainieri talks Super Regional loss at Tennessee

just listened to the interview. I respect how he didn't want to blow his ace's arm, when he saw he didn't have his stuff (even though it was still good). You compare that to what Arkansas coach did to the amazing Kopps in which he started the game and closed the night before plus had pitched a ton the week before that.. (Neither had success but one cared about his players' well being--which team would you rather go to?)

I also agree that our stadium is a hard place to pitch and that our pitchers don't get enough credit.

No ok listen I actually like our chances if we get DBU. I'm really wondering how we will do in a larger ball park as well in Omaha.

We will go as far as our pitching takes us. No doubt some of the HR's will be doubles and outs. However, we play big boy ball in the SEC in parks as big as in Omaha. Look what happened. If the pitching holds up and stays true to form and the hitting does what it did to win 2/3 on the road against SEC opponents - I like our chances a lot.

Some people forget that the park size/wind also affects the opponents. We have a bunch of guys that can run as well as can hit. Our guys manufacture a lot of runs outside of HR's. And they just don't care who knows and what anybody thinks about how they do things- just like their HC.

Random fact of the day that nobody will really care about, but is at least pretty puzzling.

I was wondering how many Vols were in the NFL, so I looked on ourlads.com to see. After looking at the Vols I started looking at other colleges to compare ourselves to. Looked at Bama, got depressed, then clicked on Temple... to find that the Carolina Panthers have EIGHT Temple Owls on their roster.

Enjoy that meaningless fact!

Rhule was the HC at Temple from 2013-2016 and he would have recruited the players that finished at the school through last season. It appears he is taking care of his guys.

I live in Arkansas and I was talking to a big Razorback baseball fan on Friday. He did not know I am a Vol fan. He went on and on about the Hogs. I told him that he better watch out for the Vols because we are improving week by week. He rolled his eyes. The same eyes that are crying tonight. Go Vols!!!! and Thank you baseball Vols

This is the text I sent my Arky buddy yesterday....

I partially tore my UCL in junior high after I'd probably thrown 60 pitches, and fatigue was definitely involved.

It's probably both. If your mechanics are bad, it makes sense your arm is going to tire and wear faster than if you had good mechanics.

But as someone who has been in athletics for my entire life... I'm not going to listen to any expert or study that says fatigue has nothing to do with injury lol.
60 pitches is not really to the point of an overuse type of injury….. I feel like your last comment is one of the biggest issues in all of sports….. not really directed at your comment but people tend to go by what they have heard, been taught, or feel instead of constantly trying to learn or figure out better ways of doing things.

As an example I taught my daughter to shoot a basketball pro form shooting instead of squaring up like is typically taught in basketball…. Other coaches looked at my daughter had leprosy even though the majority of the greatest shooters shoot that style.

ESPN did a report a few years ago that I think 2014 that there was as many players had tommy John surgery as in all of the 90’s…. They agreed with you and tried explaining it in several different ways that I’m not sure I agreed with…in the study that that they did….. it supposedly showed arm injuries had not fluctuated much since the 70’s….Look at Steve Carlton… he pitched 20+ years with several seasons close to and over 300 innings pitched…. The Dodgers babied Dustin may and he has 113 innings pitched over 3 seasons and tore his UCL.

Pitchers probably prefer the Arkansas approach….. parents not so much.

I was thinking over the weekend, would it be better long term (recruiting pitchers etc) to back the fence up 10 feet when we do renovations? Asking for a friend lol

Haha I went by the other day and there was a kid sitting on the outside step with a LSU cap on. I thought Soda won’t let the little guy in because of his hat. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂 That's not a kid, but a grown man with a kid who needs to get a job. And I would not have let him sit outside playing on his phone with my free wi-fi if I saw that hat lol.
