I love how little sense it makes. Make UVA and DBU travel to that hellhole Columbia, SC and end up with a mostly empty stadium...

Are these the same fellers that determined how tennis would be scored? Love 15 30 40 deuce....what?!

Who funded those studies, travel ball coaches? The problem is travel ball coaching. They want to win so bad they will risk a young persons arm before it is mature enough to handle that type of workload. The reason Nolan Ryan could handle it is because his arm had developed before he pitched 235 pitches in a game. Youth sports are causing problems with major league sports.

It might’ve been bonehead to let him throw 120+ pitches but Kopps had a solid start. They just couldn’t put up runs.

That’s contrary to basically every performance metric. Kids are more specialized and better than ever. More ready for college ball and pro ball sooner than ever before.

Specialization too young, burnout, over use injuries, high costs to families, these youth travel sports are losing their minds...and mostly to the benefit of the organizers and administrators. So much emphasis on winning meaningless tournaments and not on developing. This model to reach the myth of 10,000 hours of practice completely misses the boat.

This is all a big issue for US soccer...our youth model is holding us back.
