I'm in Oak Ridge. There are some on the east side of town.
stopped at Straw Plains last week. Kids were getting rowdy, so, thought id pull an old Dad trick of pulling over...'If you all dont stop...im gonna go get a Cicada, and put it in your beds!'

Rolled window down for effect. One flies in. I grab it. Instead of being scared, of course my kids just laughed their asses off. Rest of car trip was talking about their 'punishment' of having to eat live Cicadas. 🤦🏼‍♂️ ive failed

fwiw though, as a fly fisherman...i love those darn things . they are so cool looking. love to see a big bass slap one

What time do you want the rest of us there?

We know you're there! We can smell the grill!!!

Do you folks in East TN, VA, and MD have cicadas? Nada here in Middle TN.

It was hit and miss around east TN, although I got a couple nice splats on the truck's windshield in Knox County one day. Can't believe some people actually eat that mess.

Could hear them really loud one day on Bluff Mountain. But my Gatlinburg area friends were disappointed at the lack of them.

Thank you very much sir!

All the tests have come back and it looks like my daughter has a Meckel’s Diverticulum. (Retained part of umbilical cord that has various GI tissue in it. Happens in 1-2% of people. Can live your whole life with it. Or you can get an ulcer, infection and ruptured intestines, or in my daughter’s case a GI bleed. It can be removed with laparoscopic surgery. That could be the actual best of all the possibilities.
Now we just have to get her transported by medical services back to Dallas to have the surgery. Not out of the woods yet, but much better than yesterday…
Thanks again for all the prayers!

Good to hear Doc. Continued prayers for her quick and full recovery.

I haven't seen or heard the 1st one here outside of Lebanon. One of my neighbors has some family in from somewhere in Ohio and he said they were very thick and loud up there. And they are wonderful fish bait. I have caught several nice bass and probably 100's of blue gill and red eyes fishing with them back in the day.
